When Ray was still involved with SRX, and helped launch it, road courses were part of the equation. I just wonder with it evolving to a series exclusively run at night and only on ovals that’s when RE bailed. Because he left early on, maybe even before the series raced it’s first race.
I kinda hope SRX takes a year off and reinvents itself to take full advantage of its potential. The concept is really cool, but the on-track product wasn’t always there and the lineup didn’t live up to the superstar branding.
Connor Zilisch has some serious talent. He turned heads in the MX-5 Cup IMSA support series and everything I’ve watched him run in since he has been very strong in. He has a strong future somewhere and whether that comes in stock cars or in sports cars I think we’ll be talking about him for years to come!
I competed in the same karting series with Connor years ago. Watched him move on to Mazda Cup and became a front-runner immediately. ARCA he continued the trend. He has the potential to be the next generational talent. TrackHouse is making a smart investment into their future and it’s going to be entertaining to watch. As far as SRX I do believe there’s a direct connection with IROC being announced. Tony Stewart’s new commitments to NHRA will be two demanding for him to continue the role he was filling with SRX. SRX equipment has no value to any other competing series. Ray was instrumental in developing those cars. IROC needs a platform to put on actual competition and not just exhibition races. Wouldn’t surprise me one bit if this was just the perfect time for IROC to obtain the SRX assets and maybe even employees to be able to move forward.
I did not quite get the chance to go see SRX at Berlin last year, so it was def n event I wanted to attend at some point. I also enjoyed sitting down and watching their races on thursday night, kinda felt like a “tail gate” for the NASCAR races on fri sat sun respectively. That is what I will miss. Hopefully they’re able to re-adjust and come back, would hate to lose the series all together!
Trackhouse is rewriting how teams do business in NASCAR! I can remember when teams within the same organization wouldn’t communicate or cooperate with each other. Now you have Trackhouse working deals with multiple competitors to advance their growth.
Don’t forget that Trackhouse now owns a MotoGP team, taking over Aprilia’s satellite team with riders Miguel Olivera and Raúl Fernández. It’s gonna be a big year for Trackhouse
Trackhouse is definitely looking to make a name for themselves in NASCAR with all the signings they’ve been making. I’m honestly surprised they haven’t started an Xfinity team yet just so they can have other drivers ready in their pipeline
Early 90s IROC was sick! It was basically 3 or 4 Indy guys vs 4 or 5 Nascar guys everytime. I remember Al Unser Jr dominating almost every race he competed in, but he was probably also the best American driver and in the top 3 drivers in the world period at that point.

This Connor kid Trackhouse got is the real deal too
Should’ve won Watkins Glen ARCA with 3 wheels
I really wish the SRX had more variety of drivers towards the end. It had its issues but I always loved watching the races
The thing that bugged me most about SRX was when they took away the local ringers. Otherwise I loved it. Wish it could’ve lasted longer.
@@JBAlternateI didn’t like that they weren’t putting a local guy in at the end, either.
Same
It’s biggest issue was Paul Tracy
Shame for SRX. Also watch out, Zilisch is the American SVG.

Definitely connected to IROC news. Great job getting the info out quickly.
This really sucks… they put on some really great racing with a lot of great people, just hoping whatever Iroc is doing can make up for this.
What i found crazy is me and Connor are about the same age. Incredible what kids can do. Ill be rooting for him

Yup, Connor looks great in a Pro Late Model and a Late Model Stock, too.
@@luketrottier9388yeah I swear the guy is fast in everything he runs!
Conner Zilich is the real deal and the sky’s the limit as long as he can get the business end in shape.
You should see him in Trans-Am! He’s a fast kid!
Anyone who runs well in MX5 Cup has my respect. That’s a fantastic racing series that rewards smart racecraft and Zilisch is really good.
I loved the Thursday night thunder concept I’m gonna miss it. A nice mid week race that wasn’t hours upon hours long.

I would’ve loved to see the SRX at the Freedom Factory. That would’ve been awesome to see
