FOX at this point just doesn’t seem to care
Exactly because they’d also have a streaming service at this point too
Fox sports has been a lazy network for nascar
The NFL is king in the US so i wouldnt be surprised if they put more effort into the NFL because thats just a more mainstream sport
clint is also a joke of a commentator
I hope you are wrong…FOX has been so much better than NBC
FOX always seem to treat the fans like children
NBC actually treats NASCAR like an actual sport and treats it viewers with some actual knowledge of the sport
People complain about Dale and Jeff’s voices but I’ll take that every day with their overall production and quality of the production over Fox’s completely lack luster production, Kevin was good Mike is still decent but Clint is just not it for me.
Whoever thought Jeff Burton should be in the NBC booth is clearly an Arr-tard. Dale Jr is just too invested in the sport to care, the only time he did hold back was when he call the back of the Gen 6 car “Giant-@$$ spoilers”
@@darthhull85 Kevin might turn out to be my favorite announcer this year, the amount of knowledge he has from driving these cars really carries over to the broadcasts. Loved him talking about splitting the brake rotor compounds on Saturday.
ehhh, not all of the time
@@darthhull85 Dale and Jeff at least talk the truth about what’s actually happening
It seems Clint and Jeff at the time tried to sugarcoat everything
That’s bs tell us the FACTS it won’t bite us
The poor TV production takes on an even higher degree of dissatisfaction when you realize you are paying for cable/streaming services and still have to view the stupid all-too-frequent commercials.
For real. I get a good deal with sling and even then it’s beyond frustrating
I remember a few years ago hearing about live sports on streaming for the first time and, considering how this was back when ads were only just starting to appear on every streamer, I actually thought, “Wow! Does that mean no more lengthy commercial breaks?”
Oh, how innocent and naive I was.
Fox does this on every sport they broadcast. I like Matt Weaver’s take on the All-Star and combine it with the short track idea of Justin Marks and I think you are good to go. It’s easier to get to those tracks in May through July than end of January, beginning of February. As for the Clash, definitely experiment. I do want to see one year a run on the beach, go really old school.
If only the Daytona city council thought like you… they kicked NASCAR off their July 4 date recently, so the odds of a beach race happening are much less
Fox missed a few moments from the Sonoma race last year too. Blaney was spun with three laps to go on turn 2 and they didn’t show it, it wasn’t on the highlight reel they posted to Youtube the same day either.
I was there, he spun twice, no sign of it when I rewatched it when got home
@@TheAnimationStationYT I was there too, IIRC, i believe I ended up seeing the second spin on the extended highlights, but they did miss it during the broadcast
Fox is the legit reason I “pirate” stream the international feed most of the time
It’s also the reason why I save up to go to the races on its half of the schedule. It’s just too CRINGE at this point
Praise allah every Sunday for those streams
It is just not fox or nascar. Every racing series broadcasted by a US broadcast sucks, there is no focus on the race.
@@ramdart74 with the exception of F1 on ESPN which is basically ESPN using the Sky Sports F1 global feed to cover the race.
@@chrisguardiano6143 the only thing that makes F1 broadcasts interesting is the announcers get SUPER into the race. They hype it up so much despite nothing exciting ever happening on track
I think harvick’s no nonsense personality can help Fox clean some of this up. He’s not afraid to speak up
Yeah, but money talks at CRINGE. At least NBC knew this and let Jr do his own thing via podcasts and the like, bringing in even more money than what CRINGE is doing
this is one race, we will see
I mean JR has a pure love for the sport vs doing it as a job. He’s our generations Benny Parsons.
Love that you are doing power rankings!!
Is it possible they didn’t have the full crew on Saturday? There wasn’t supposed to be that much going on on Saturday. Practice and heat races with only a handful of cars on track at once. Maybe they had a smaller crew with more coming in to fill out the crew in Sunday that couldn’t be brought in when nascar decided to do everything Saturday at the last minute.
Im just not prepared to put all the blame on Fox without considering that the schedule change could have contributed to their issues.
Why wouldn’t Fox have the entire crew? You’re going to have the same crew for operating cameras and production for practice and the heats as you would for the main event
I made the same point Saturday and should have brought it up again here.
It’s very possible FOX didn’t have their full crew at the track. But I’ll also argue that fans have made similar complaints about them for a couple years now.
@EricEstepp I keep hearing that, but I’ve honestly never had much to complain about with fox.
I have more of an issue with the second half figuring out where I can find practice, qualifying, the race, post race etc on USA, NBC, peacock, etc…
@johnhaas2523 you don’t really need as many cameras or production crew to cover 6 or 8 cars at a time.
I think your making an assumption that you can’t possibly prove.
@@jeremyharper3462
I agree with you 100% in everything you said
Here’s the interesting tidbit: Last driver that overdrove a corner and ran into Logano on a short track, with the ensuing post race confrontation, went on to win the championship in 2020.
Who did FOX say was flying fast in the clash?
I’ve noticed that when Mike joy says “crash” it takes Fox sports like a few seconds to even show the wreck.
Which is why I go to the races in person on the Fox half. Too CRINGE to watch at home
I’m an advocate for running the clash in Mexico. I think they start with Mexico City next year at the local Mexico NASCAR track – Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. F1 races there on the road course, NASCAR Mexico races there and Xfinity has raced there in the past, it should be a quality facility, and it supports a few road course configurations and a 1-mile oval. If it is well received, they go back annually and move the event around the country. If it’s not a winner, then back to the drawing board. Also, it is closer to NC than LA is. They may need an extra travel day to deal with customs, but that can be worked out.
If they race in Mexico they have to make sure Kyle Busch doesnt bring a gun with him
I feel that they should race there… as a POINTS race. Mexico has already shown NASCAR that they want racing Cup over there, and this is a prime opportunity to do so. They just need to remove TexARSE, or take away a 2nd date from any track that has one, and it’s gold. The Clash feels like something domestic, to be held in US soil. Seeing the multiple configurations, they can put Xfinity on the oval, and Cup on the F1 layout just to spit in their faces after that Chicago scandal
We may as well just give the damn country to Mexico. Idk wtf is wrong with people these day. Send our clash to fucking Mexico Be missimg half the field when they get back. Cartel will get half of them. Wtf do we need a race in Mexico. Put it at wilkesboro oo Bette they put it back at Daytona where it belongs. NASCAR is stupid. Too dumb to see the more they change the more the ratings drop
I used to be a camera man for college football. Now I know it’s a bit different and Im not sure what Fox tell’s their camera men and women for motorsports but rule of thumb is to keep the shot wide and if anything the networks production staff can zoom in if necessary. However, I notice that for the past couple of years that the camera operators for both Fox and NBC are not keeping the shot wide enough which is why they are missing a lot of the action.
THANK YOU Yes!
Ya shoulda been here when Jimmie Johnson was racing. There’s no WAY the cameras could’ve gotten any tighter on that 48. Out of 4, crop out 2nd place, pass slow car at S/F line get flagstand to track angle; into 1 car goes high and 2nd cuts low – crop out 2nd and switch to infield up to middle of 1 & 2 angle. Cars side by side down backstretch, 48 falls back to 2nd, new leader, stay tight on 48 into turn 3; end of the lead lap car blows tire in front of new leader going in to 4, crop out both victim and leader, go to pit road up to turn 4 exit angle on 48 only. It was like that lap after lap after lap. Infuriating! Lots of racing going on, but the production trailer must’ve gotten steaks and potatoes grilled and served by Lowe’s during late lunch at the track because it was like that every race.
@@shannon3n8 Ive been watching since 01 but never noticed the cameras and how they focused on Johnson. haha. The only time I notice something different with the cameras was when Chevy sponsored the Richmond races.
I have this same complaint. I literally never want to see a zoomed in closeup of one car…
I just don’t understand how you can miss so many things at that tiny track. I went to the race the first two years and I could literally see everything without moving my head.
Next years Clash should be at old racetracks like Rockingham!
The Clash belongs in Daytona it was part of speedweeks for years. Having cars on the track daily practicing for the clash, qualifying, and the 500 got fans more hyped for the coming season than anything else.
You’re not getting Speed Weeks back Denny Hamlin will tell you that He doesn’t even as a team owner want to tear up how many f****** cars Because of the cost.
Having it in Daytona isn’t going to get new eyes on the sport and help grow the sport and that’s the entire point of the clash anymore
the clash Don’t Belong at Daytona it need be used a Experiment race
Yes and kick off the season with a champions only race (Cup and Daytona 500 champions only).
Daytona week was the best. Now you messed with the Super Bowl of racing. No wonder ppl are turning away from NASCAR
I agree with rotating classic short tracks hosting the All Star Race on the condition that North Wilkesboro gets a points race, likely replacing Spring Bristol.
Im fine with this, I’m fine with the clash going somewhere like Hickory.
There’s lots of different power rankings out there but Eric’s is quickly becoming my favourite. Look forward to week 1
I haven’t watched any of the LA Clash races, but I never missed a shootout at Daytona…! For decades, I couldn’t wait for the shootout kicking off the season at Daytona…!!! Nascar is doing a great job at sucking the last few years…!!! Thanks for sharing… Keep up your awesomeness….
