I got old , but it seems like yesterday that Jeff was just a kid. I stopped watching when he left . And never looked back.

Nascar said the last lap flag is the checker flag.

I don’t watch a lot of NASCAR. But let me get this straight. Byron causes a crash with 9 laps to go taking out cars IN FRONT of him. He isn’t penalized and he gets the win?

lol they wrecked before crossing the line should have been OT simple as nascar rules but they made a judgement call and wanted it finished before the xfinity race.

Reply
@daniele.644 February 20, 2024 at 3:40 am

It wasn’t a judgment call, the leaders were well beyond the line when the yellow flew. What are you talking about?

Reply
@SteelCourage February 20, 2024 at 8:26 am

@@daniele.644 rule is if accident happens before the line they go to over time and the cars start spinning before the line it’s simple and a nascar rule and when people have hung around till Monday evening for the race you don’t end it under caution it’s a slap in the face .

Reply
@daniele.644 February 20, 2024 at 1:22 pm

@@SteelCourage No. the rule is once the leaders take the white flag the next flag ends the race. It has nothing to do with where the wreck happens, it’s all about whether the leaders have crossed the line at the white when the caution flies. They were clearly past the line before the caution came out so it was the right call.

@@daniele.644 fox showed a camera view one time it was the crash with the yellow light in the bottom corner so people could see it and it clearly showed the yellow light on before he crossed the line now maybe nascar or fox was wrong for showing it but it was made clear .

The first time I ever saw Jeff race was at Volusia County Speedway—just a few miles from Daytona—and he was 14 years old competing with grown men driving a winged sprint car on the dirt. A lot of great memories since that day
