SVG, if you’re wondering why NASCAR doesn’t have practice at Atlanta, don’t worry, we all are.
They do at some tracks and it’s because the teams agreed to it. It wasn’t like NASCAR just took it away from them. It saves them money on fuel and tires.
@@nomadman5288 it seems insane to me that a series like NASCAR wouldn’t have the money to run practice at every circuit. It should be mandatory everywhere
Rookies should be given 30 minutes or so.
i could be wrong but i think its to save the individual teams money not so much to save NASCAR money. As they say, best way to make a small fortune in racing is to start with a big one@@traaztek1996
@@traaztek1996they have money, it’s put into simulator work. Simulators build the setups, and the practice just verifies what is on sim. But drafting tracks are literally full throttle single car and you cannot replicate race conditions very well, so there is no point
Corey feels like a guy who never takes accountability. He has a great opportunity to win this year. If he doesn’t, Spire should move on. Too much talent waiting for an opportunity.
Yes I do
@@coreychildress156You the REAL Corey Lajoie?
Ah yes if he outruns his teammates but doesn’t win Spire should dump him, makes total sense.
Every other main sport has practice/warmup times… not having practice is like asking a sprinter or NFL running back to get up and start sprinting
That was some creative editing on Corey’s part to not show him getting Cindric out of shape.
Cindric got himself out of shape by trying to cut LaJoie’s nose off.
@@JacobRayLawson Then Lajoie probably would have showed that part instead of cutting it out of that were the case
@@Austin_Windric He didn’t cut it out. He mostly talked about Chastain coming down which is also true.
I’m sorry but Kraus is NOT ready for a cup ride. This is a huge L for Kaulig
Agreed, but Kraus apparently has sponsorship dollars, and Kaulig needs the Sponsorship dollars; otherwise, Allmendinger would probably still be in the car.
Money talks
I would not trust him in a Truck hardly, even an Xfinity ride would be a big ask.
@@johndornoffSponsorship won’t matter if he wrecks a bunch.
@@ethanweeter2732 Well hopefully there is a disclaimer in the contract about a bunch of wreck equipment and who is paying.
1.) The thing between Chastain and LaJoie is just a superspeedway racing incident. LaJoie was holding his line, while Cindric was trying to block LaJoie from slingshotting around him, while Chastain was trying to switch lanes to make a move on Byron as the leader. When all of that is combined together, it’s gonna end in a typical superspeedway wreck. It was no one person’s fault.
2.) Old Atlanta > New Atlanta
Who do you think is most responsible for the last lap crash? Chastain? Cindric? LaJoie? Or a little bit of everyone?
Can we blame NASCAR for thinking every fan wants to see a wad of cars at the end of these races?
A mix of Cindric’s bad block and Lajoie’s worse push. Chastain just shot the gap that they made
I don’t like nascar trying to get a side by side finish every Daytona 500
When Ross went there, there was plenty of room for a car width. The 2 came up whether that was from getting hit from behind or not that’s what happened
It was just Hard Racing at Daytona I don’t blame Nobody Ross was trying to shoot a block Cindric was going for the lead and Lajoie was just trying to get the best finish he could everyone who’s to Blame Nobody it’s just Raceing
lajoie is always causing wrecks but never takes the blame
He’s always the victim, like Bubba and Denny.
What happened at Daytona was “just one of those racing deals.”
I was disappointed as well to hear srx wasn’t happening this year.
Practice we need it desperately… Pre qualifying especially… Great video…
I don’t think NASCAR and the TV networks wanted practice before qualifying at Daytona and owners want no practice at the super speedways outside of the 500
@@johnhaas2523 When you go to the track and you drive 12 hours to get there for the weekend… The more on track activity the better… You don’t want to spend the $ to practice stay in the garage… Sux…
@@jimmykinninger3155 Agreed. Saturdays at the track were so cool in the 1980s. 2nd round quals, either the mods or the Busch series and two rounds of Cup practice. It was also a chance to get an autograph or two. It was great fun.
I don’t know why they don’t do hot laps. I know the risk, but hot laps help you figure out a problem.
“if you no longer go for a gap that exists you are no longer a racing driver”
Eric literally preaching about the lack of practice
AMEN! Preach it Eric!
To be fair to Lajoie, we have the luxury of watching and rewatching and looking at it from 10 different angles and slowing it down and all, whereas in the moment, they don’t have any of that. In the moment, you have the incar view. And, even if you look at the other views, there was a gap, a very small gap, next to a car that was loose, that Chastain decided to fill, and by the time he filled it, there wasn’t a gap left.
With that being said, I’m not going to “blame” anyone. It was an aggressive move by Chastain, but it’s the last lap, there are going to be aggressive moves. Lajoie was let going to lift because it’s the last lap. Cindric was out of shape because his car wasn’t handling great. Byron sorta threw a late block. Ultimately, that’s just superspeedway racing with this car.
100% we need more practice, and the truck series imo has been showing that for quite a while now
Completely agree with your thoughts on practice. It just baffles me that they can’t fit in an hour of practice all weekend, and I’ve been saying the same thing about the money issue… if you’re worried about the cost, just sit the practice out. Simple.
I just couldn’t imagine being a new driver like SVG and have to take to a track like Atlanta with ZERO practice. Unreal
The teams and TV don’t want that and the teams are the ones who don’t want any practice at the super speedways
The teams are to blame, go complain to them
Couldn’t agree more about your take on practice. It’s actually absurd that a top level of motorsport wouldn’t have at least one practice session prior to qualifying. I’m of the belief there should be two or three throughout a race weekend.
Teams don’t want it because it costs money and possibly wrecking a car in practice….
I’m hyped RFK have a new podcast every Wednesday
I enjoyed Ray talking about his friendships with Dale Earnhart Sr and Andy Petrie and how him and Andy had their own radio channel so they could talk to each other during races . Also enjoyed him talking about his friendship with Dale Earnhart and how close they really were
Spot on assessment on the topic of practice! 1hour voluntary practice for each series.
