The Next Gen era can be defined in many ways in its now over 2 year tenure. There have been many ups and downs during this time as well but I would say that one thing that is both in plain sight but also overlooked is just how many viral moments have been produced due either in part or in full because of the Next Gen car. There have been four major and viral moments NASCAR has experienced in the past 16 months alone. This is why the Next Gen is NASCAR's viral machine…

Do you think the Next Gen car is the biggest reason for NASCAR’s many recent viral moments?
A video game move styles by Ross Chastain at Martinsville 2022
Social media is huge now
NASCAR having insane moments happening is so big for the sport
Yes, The Racing has Improved at Many Tracks that didn’t have The Best Racing before The Gen 7 Car like Las Vegas and Kansas and It has a ton of other Good Things about It!
Not even close
Yes
Some of my freinds who don’t watch nascar evwn said that was cool when showing the 3 wide finish and the cars 1 finish lmao
I think the Next Gen car has had a lot to do with these crazy NASCAR Moments recently.
Showing that in a way, Nascar trying to level the field worked to an extent
my dad, who knows nothing about NASCAR was telling me today how he saw the 3 wide finish and thought it was awesome(until i told him i had 5 bucks on a Blaney win lol). Have never heard him talk about NASCAR ever before.
Next Gen has given us some great publicity and momentum just have to find a way to keep it up! Intermediates are good with this car but short tracks and road courses need some tuning to make the racing better if we want to keep all these new fans who are coming to watch from the viral moments.
I’ve always felt that the next gen cars are TOO good at roadcourses, to the point where the on track product suffers because of it like in F1. The cars are too planted, I feel like they should be more brutish. Either add more hp or take away aero.
@@I_Hate_Youtube_Handlesthey could try removing the spoiler for the road courses, just to see how that plays out
Even though the Next-gen is still a “work-in-progress”, I have to say this car is living up to its name in terms of Parity and wild moments happening on the track.
Well like Nascar’s previous generations, they are trying to be both proactive and reactive for this car’s development, I just hope the trajectory keeps going up
The Next Gen certainly has flaws but there’s no denying it’s created so many iconic moments already, and this is only year 3 of this car. If we get the short tracks and road courses sorted I think we’re in great shape as a sport.
Hopefully what was learned from Garage 56 will be put towards the road courses. I also hope they come to Road Atlanta.
As the designated NASCAR guy at work, moments like these are chicken noodle soup for my soul. I love it when my coworkers come hounding me when stuff like this come on their social media feeds.
What do you do
@@bruhhhhmoment4848 construction, you’d think NASCAR would be more popular in this industry
Love informing people of the strategy they miss watching only highlights
@@scottseese13I just started watching all the series every week this season, and maaaan. It’s not just driving in circles, I own you all an apology, I wasn’t familiar with your game.
@@falcon1378it’s alright good on you for owning up to your mistakes
Trackhouse Racing is NASCAR’s Viral Organization
Factual statement
They’ve been involved in 3/4 of these moments absolutely
Totally agree.
Real
I’ve been watching NASCAR since 2009 and I’ve never seen the kind of exposure that our sport is getting since 2022. It definitely ain’t the same old NASCAR anymore.
you’re right, we are evolving in the best way!
Also something to note is how involved trackhouse was involved in every viral moment within the next gen era starting with Ross Cota win , bringing foreign talents to the sport, hail melon, Suarez winning Sonoma making history as the first driver from Mexico to win a cup series race, Suarez now being part of a historical race win having 3 car photo finish. Justin Marks has already left a impact in the sport in a way not many can say
Ya and keep in mind Trackhouse is still a relatively new team, so the fact that they’re already a part of Nascar history (in a good way), tells you that they’re a well oiled machine over there
@@conflict314 I think it helps that unlike other Nascar celebrities, he actually promotes the team both with his music and cross promotion with paint schemes
Every driver and fan has always complained about the cars. Everyone wants “back in the day”. But, for the most part, this new car is one of the best ever.
I haven’t dug into it to see if they have already, but if they get the safety issues fixed, they’ll have it about perfect other than some short track tweaks.
@@tangydiesel1886 yes love to see more hp for the short tracks
Next Gen is almost perfect, it just needs 750 HP to get there.
@@Dartingleopardi don’t believe so especially with the first two races of the season having cars being wrecking loose so in my opinion more power isnt required well not too much more
@@speedhunter7156 750 is not a ton more than the current 630, it is not like going for the 900 HP that they had in the late COT era. It is just a bit more for better racing on non-restrictor plate tracks
Nascar finally feels like they’ve got it right with the Next Gen. It’s done so much for the sport. It’s definitely awful at short tracks, hit and miss at road courses with more misses so far, but it’s still such an amazing development. Nascar is more exciting now than it’s been in a very long time.
I don’t even think it’s peaked yet, it has potential on road courses, they could give it a hybrid powertrain and bump up the horsepower to 900 again, maybe 1000. Plus there’s hype of a possible new manufacturer.
Well i don’t think its that bad on short tracks anymore but what would be 500 hp hybrid system sounds interesting
I’d say a good 5th viral moment is Ryan Preece’s flip at Daytona last year. People I know that don’t following racing at all were talking about his wreck, and we got to see the safety of the Next Gen showcased in pretty spectacular form.
Yep that flip caused the car to go up so high that it made outsiders realize how much they are missing out.
I think the best part of viral moments is that it make more people actually know what the sport is because where I live anyway, a lot of people I know just straight up don’t even know what NASCAR is and moments like that will help
3 out of 4 of these involve Trackhouse, they’re helping get more eyes on the sport, whether or not those introduced by these viral moments stick around is TBD but Trackhouse is going to be a main stay in NASCAR for a while
It’s not the car. It’s exclusively Trackhouse bringing NASCAR back
I haven’t watched NASCAR since maybe 2006 or 2007. Got big into F1 in 2020, decided to try NASCAR this year. So far I’m not disappointed, it’s been fun
I think a photo finish like this is more likely to have an impact that someone wall riding because a 3 wide finish is a testament to the competition and the racing itself.
