I won’t be surprised by the end of the year Tony Stewart sells the team

Jr has all but said he wants in Cup, talks money, leadership, and possible drivers. Tony has been miserable in NASCAR for some time now. He owns 2 Top Fuel teams, and hes driving his wife’s dragster, do we really need anymore hints? Agree if he buys, they’ll run Chevys

There’s a reason why Ford is giving more technical support for a team that used to be a glorified start and park team than a championship winning organization.

@kharnthebetrayer1575 February 28, 2024 at 3:52 am

Stewart being pissed at FORD and his very public anger for them telling him NO over Larson.

@buttslappingpirate February 28, 2024 at 5:11 am

@@kharnthebetrayer1575 Oddly enough, I think that Ford actually had a point. The 2021 season was a freaking year-long sandbagging by every team other than Hendrick (did anyone wonder as to why Kyle Busch was as pissed as he was…dwarfing every other Kyle Busch temper tantrum, I mean, he was REALLY pissed off) as every team other than Hendrick were under a parts freeze, so teams could save money for the next gen 2022 car…at the expense of fans who saw even top tier teams lagging behind, especially after winning one race (half the championship 16 only won one race during the regular 2021 season and were then mid-back or backmarkers for the rest of the regular season).

In essence, every other team out there threw out their rotator cuffs waving Larson and Elliott to the front, with Larson coasting to a win because the other teams were scrimping and saving for the new 2022 cars…and were under strict orders to hold back so they wouldn’t push and break a lot of parts. The old cars would simply be thrown away or sold at a loss after 2021 was done, so don’t break anything, if you find yourself in place for a win, great, but don’t beat and bang for the lead. I’m thinking that many team crew chiefs probably fainted at the parts cost of the disastrous Indy road course event where multiple cars were destroyed after hitting the terribly designed-and-placed track bumpers/barriers.

In addition, Larson’s return for the 2021 season was a redemption story arc for NASCAR: Idiot says idiotic things because he thinks he’s a comedian, idiot gets fired, idiot immediately gets snapped up by the World of Outlaws (who quickly realize that NASCAR and related waaaaay overreacted)…and only after Larson goes to NASCAR Reeducation Camp does Larson publicly acknowledge that he indeed was a terrible human being, and only after being trained in the ways of the NASCAR Politically Correct Force, will he be able to win a NASCAR Champeenship.

Am I nuts for suggesting thus? Go back to the not-so-thrilling year of 2021, and all you’ll see is the same “redemption” theme being played out all over NASCAR related media throughout the season, Larson was given top billing for having been brave enough to be reeducated by NASCAR, meaning, Larson’s champeenship win was pretty much all but scripted.

What’s happened since 2021?

Larson has practically fallen off the face of the Earth. He’s an awesome dirt track driver…but not much more than a gimmicky top-level NASCAR competitor, he’ll never win another championship, nor will he ever be in contention to win one.

@callmen4 February 28, 2024 at 12:11 pm

@@buttslappingpirateLarson led the most laps last year despite being wrecked out of 10+ races last year and yes some was his fault but the overwhelming majority wasn’t. The guy will compete for a championship for as long as he’s in the sport, would’ve won many of the races last season too had he not been taken out by someone else

@@callmen4 “would’ve won many of the races last season too had he not been taken out by someone else”

Yes, he’s always in the wrong place at the right time, isn’t he?

He’ll never win another champeenship, sorry. Like Denny Hamlin, another quality-when-it-doesn’t-mean-anything driver who will never win a champeenship, Larson simply falls apart when it really counts.

Larson only won in 2021 because NASCAR wanted him to. Don’t believe me? Look at the stats. Everyone else other than Elliott simply threw out their left rotator cuff in waving Larson to the front.

I know that Tony is the owner, but this comes down to the director of competition, namely Greg Ziff deli. I personally think Ziff’s time is over and done and if Tony or jean Hoss doesn’t do something soon, I think you’re right, for all technical alliances from SHR and who could blame them.
