Short answer: Amazon prime money. Why do you think Al Michaels did the same thing once Thursday night football when to Prime video?
He made a comment about not being at the track. Do they still not have the announcers at the track on Sunday’s all the time? I know they did that back in 70s and 80s but was not aware that was still going on, if in fact it is.
I’ve been saying this for years. NBC doesn’t care as much as you think they do.
