I’m all for NASCAR venturing out to different markets but I think we should try to make our current market stronger before we venture out

I think you can do both. I think 1 international rotating race to replace the clash would do a lot to gain interest here and abroad

Yes there is a lot of people who are complaining about the pay for truck drivers winning payment

Ah, such a shame. Get a job at Walmart, then get back to us, ingrate driver.

NASCAR in Europe would be awesome, there’s only one issue. NASCAR doesn’t give a single DAMN about us, European fans. We can’t vote on the most popular drivers, we can’t take advantage of discounts in the NASCAR shop and the worst thing, our broadcasts are extremely half-assed. And it’s not our commentator’s fault, they’re doing their best with what they’re getting… But our broadcasts have severe audio issues, audio lag, sometimes the sound disappears, or is heard from parts of the track that are not in the frame. Mostly when the US broadcasts go to commercials.

NASCAR compare to the other four majors sports (MLB, NFL, NBA and NHL) have a POOR International coverage, they have an International feed for the outside of US, but is extreme poorly administered

As someone who has personal experience trying and failing to get their foot in the door of the lower rank national series of NASCAR, it’s actually exactly as bad as Joey Logano says. Hell, 10+ years ago, when I tried it, it was as bad as Logano says it is, and I know it’s only gotten worse since then.

I remember you. Andrew Murray, right? Slapshoes mentioned you in the worst liars, sponsors and team owners saga if I recall. Hope you’re doing well these days mate

You’re 100% correct. He mentions Corey Heim, Rajah Caruth and Baylee Currey. I hate to break it to you, but I promise, every one of those guys have cut some ENORMOUS checks to be in a ride.

You can’t race in the Indycar series unless you bring funding. This has always been the situation. When if history is to be spoken off. F1 was for the rich because it was the wealthy people and families of the USA and the UK. Who had the money for such hobbies as becoming a race car driver,

It’s Joey’s fault for the modern “buy a ride” business model.

Thank you Ryan for these kind and 100 percent accurate words! Europe is out of NASCAR. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next with 3F Racing and what else will be possible in the future. Great program with great people, keep it up! Oh and by the way: I was also one of those fans from Germany who had his Hero Card signed by you in Oschersleben!

Yo, Euro Series would be amazing to have as a replacement for dirt in the new NASCAR game. I’d love to explore that series in game.

The Nascar Euro Series is great fun! I would love to see more american nascar creators talk about it, plus it’s streamed for free on YouTube

Great to see some euro nascar coverage on your channel Eric it a great series and Bobby Labonte did three full years in it.

Reply
@ariansmovies March 7, 2024 at 6:39 am

Those were three quiet years because there wasn’t any coverage of his stint in the euro series.

When they put out the purse for Craftsman Truck and Xfinity Series I shake my head in total bewilderment. It’s ridiculous. I don’t know how they can afford to build the vehicles, nevermind the cost of travel, hotel and payroll for the crew and people back at the shop.

Only fix I see for the lower level truck/xfinity issue is get rid of the cup driver limit. Which then maybe creates another problem. But.. for my own experience speaking. I probably could be driving the cup car full time this year and the truck full time because WWEX would have continued potentially covering the sponsorship side of my ride. Or atleast if there was more races/markets I was allowed it would be easier but the races I am allowed to do aren’t the key big markets. (Charlotte) for example is triple truck and not allowed. For cup guys being the Coke 600 it’s an easy sell or easier sell to get a sponsor. Having a cup guy driver your truck as an owner would both help validate and really build the truck programs and maybe attract new sponsors you could spread (10-15 races for cup guys and maybe sell the sponsor to buy a few races for the unknown kid that is apart of your team)

No easy fix besides just raise the purse. But this cost thing wasn’t an issue back in day because there were sponsors lined up for all these cup guys in truck/xfinity.. but now all the deals have dried up because if they’re gonna spend money on the cup guy.. they’re probably gonna spend the money on Sunday with the cup guy because the market has changed and not every cup guy has every race sold like 10 years ago.

I’d look at things this way. Even if money is an issue. Go out there and give it your all. Make it fun for yourself. Your doing what you enjoy so try to embrace it. Unfortunately, there not much that can be done. So worrying is the last thing you want to think while racing.

I think the nascar euro series is very underrated. The tracks are great, free coverage on YT and no playoffs (just double points for the final four races with no reset).

And If anyone is interested, here are some notable drivers to have raced there:

Bobby Labonte
Jacques Villeneuve
Ben Kennedy
Jeffrey Earnhardt
Mathias Lauda (yes, son of Niki Lauda)

Eric, you may have missed the point, The best way to bring attention to the lower series is to have Cup stars show up regularly to bring in more viewers and help fill the stands. I really don’t think that Cup drivers are chasing a trophy but trying to get some track time for the Sunday race. Just like it used to be. Would you rather watch a movie with your favorite stars in it? It is also a great opportunity for young drivers to learn from the Cup drivers and ask questions off track.

Reply
@EricEstepp March 7, 2024 at 3:21 am

I’m not opposed to Cup guys racing in the lower ranks. I just think it’s harder to convince sponsors to do one-off races. It’s easier to convince a sponsor, team, or manufacturer to invest in a young driver that could be part of their future.

@oktoday8323 March 7, 2024 at 4:01 am

@@EricEsteppI know your not against Cup drivers racing in other series, I just thought they brought money into the race by just being in it. I guess the problem is the economy we have right now, Investors are afraid to spend money with an uncertain political future that effects their existence.
