PHOENIX POST RACE – Bad Fast Toyotas, Tons Of Strategy, But Is It Any Better?

With a new short/shorter track package many wonder if it will make a difference at Phoenix. Or can it at least be better than the Xfinity race?

Why did it say I timed out? I didn’t say anything bad? The ONLY reason I am frustrated with him is bc I like Jones a lot. I was not trying to be a spammer or anything I am just really frustrated.

And considering you let people spam Eagles for no good reason… me hating bubba was based on facts. And bias for Jones. Not on any other thing

Maybe I’m the odd one out, however that was actually a quite decent race, at least for the first two stages. To all those who complain about “no passes”, I ask you look to even just the top 5, all of whom aside from Gibbs came from further back in that last stage to compete. And in the first two stages both had lead battles and generally the whole race had comers and goers. I am willing to bet it is largely a set-up issue, since the ability to pass was dependent on the phase in the run. Sure Denny, for instance, couldn’t pass at the end, however he burnt his equipment, like Reddick who moved up then down the top ten.

You aren’t odd. Nascar content creators don’t actually like Nascar. Virtually every week it’s just nitpicking and focusing on the negative. Does the sport a total disservice imo.

How is the short tracks package

Surprisingly, it does show some promise. It could use some improvement, sure. But hey, that’s a good first step.

Oh yeah a track with a giant TOYOTA statue on it and a TOYOTA seems to win there more times than not.. RIGGED

I am so done with Phoenix…The championship race should be at Atlanta.

If I want Phoenix out of the Championship Race, the finale should be at Talladega.

Iceberg wants it at Homestead witch doesn’t sound bad ether.

So, even when people pass, this track still sucks.

With that there really is no way to save this thing, just scrap Phoenix

There’s nothing you can do about the track, regardless of how good or bad it is.

Sure there is.

Stop going to it twice.

In fact, stop going to it once….

This is THE worst track on the circuit, and there is nothing close, and I know a lot of people are going to say Texas, but no, it’s this, because they JUST literally fixed this track, there was so much passing today, and the race still sucked. The winner went from 20th to 1st in one run, and won by 7 seconds, passing wasn’t an issue. And the race was still terrible. This track is now officially irredeemable. They can’t run a better race than this one there, and it was still dirt. It needs to be shucked in the Pacific Ocean….

@@mikeclark7026 Mike Clark, everything I said is 100 percent FACTS.

@@mikeclark7026 You know they aren’t going to do that to Phoenix, and I know they aren’t going to do that as well. Why? Because there haven’t been ANY discussions about that. ZERO!!!!!!

Believe me, I know that you don’t like the track. I don’t like it either, and if NASCAR actually had the ability to do what you are proposing, I would totally be on board with it, too. But NASCAR doesn’t necessarily have that power, the best they can do is remove a race from Phoenix. With that being said, you can say whatever you want to say about how horrible the track is, because I already agree with you on how bad the track is. Why? Because it does, that’s why. It’s NEVER been a good track even when it first opened. NEVER!!!!!! But it is what it is, and we need to accept it, even if we hate the track.

Also, not that it’s ever going to happen, the final punchline should be “It needs to be dried up in the desert.” Not “It needs to be shucked in the Pacific Ocean.” Because the Pacific Ocean is like, what, 100 miles away from Phoenix, give her take?

I also agree with you about Texas, as well. All the people that still hate the track have not paid any attention the past two years since the Next Gen first raced there.

This race was pretty boring. With that said, however, I think the new short track package does show some promise. I’m actually looking forward to every short track race this year, which was something that hasn’t happened to me since the end of the Gen 6 era.

Also, on the topic of the Championship race, if you all asked me a year ago if Phoenix should take out the Championship Race, up until last November, my response to you would have been, “Yes. Phoenix isn’t even a track worthy of hosting the event.” But now, after watching the 2023 Championship Race, and thinking about it more, Phoenix can have the potential of putting on a good event. The problem is if you want to move the race out of Phoenix for 2025, you’d have to make deals with whatever track would be willing to host it, not to mention it has to be an ISC track with excellent fall climates. That could result in NASCAR delaying the release of the 2025 schedule until mid October. And that has already happened before, when FOX wanted the All Star Race out of Texas. Granted, with the new broadcasting agreement starting next year, it can certainly still be possible if NBC Sports wanted a change in the structure of the Championship Race. But unless NASCAR, ISC and NBC decide to go in a different direction, you’re stuck with Phoenix as the championship track for 2025.

Race was alright but I’d like to see the clash go back to Daytona and see the championship race back to Atlanta like the 90s and 2000s

Homestead the best track for the championship. You at least can win using different lanes. And yea the pit crew should be highlighted like a actual team sport
