Can’t believe that two races after Atlanta, we’d already have a boring finish this season, still happy for Christopher Bell getting the win, and Truex making a late race comeback!
Don’t let one good race distract you from the fact that almost every race with the next gen car is a snooze fest.
@@jaredchampagne2752 “almost every race” nah man. Shitty races like today would genuinely be fixed if they just gave them more horsepower. There is literally no skill involved with driving at these tracks because flooring it doesn’t affect the balance at all. Too much grip, not enough horsepower.
@@V8_Diva did you watch last season? Most races were a conveyor belt. But yes every one knows horsepower will solve all. They are grasping at straws with this garbage aero and tire gimmicks.
NASCAR 24: Total Toyota Control
They’ve won a single race this season…chill
HOW DID THE GROOVY MAN GET HOME SO FAST???
No he left on Saturday afternoon didn’t stay and watch the race live
I believe EE said his back in Texas!!!
I think he knew this race wasn’t gonna b that good cause it’s phx after all. So he probably caught the next flight out after he’s power hour segment
I think the Phoenix spring race should be under the lights
Ya not happening as fox sports won’t give up Sunday night prime time programming for it and Saturday nights are bad TV ratings
Great to watch on TV, but it would be frigid at the track. The desert gets cold when the Big Orange Ball goes down.
@@DaveGme It only starts to get cold by 2 am. It’s fine to have a night race that ends by 11pm
This was the Toyota Owners 500 presented by the bad short track package.
Gibbs, Gragson, McDowell, and Hocevar i think have been the 4 most standout drivers so far this year
I think Reddick needs to be on the list especially 3 2nd place for the stages last week and for his finishes for this race!
Gilliland too
Blaney’s got three straight top fives to start the season
@@andrewmeyer4124 yeah hes been great too but i was saying drivers that you wouldnt think would be so good to start the year
I expect this kinda stuff from McDowell nowadays. Gilliand however I have been very pleasantly surprised with. Front Row looks awesome
I do think you’re REALLY overblowing the whole “Chevy is in trouble” aspect. Everyone knew JGR and 23XI were gonna be fast this year. In all reality, there were 2 Hendrick Chevy’s in the top 5 basically all day (24 and 9) that, as a result of pit strategy late, got cycled to the back.
Toyota had ONE good race out of 4 and Chevy had ONE bad race out of 4…hes way over exaggerating just for the sake of it…
Dudes been overhyping Toyota for months. It’s getting old
Entertaining but I don’t look at NASCAR YouTubers the same as the media that’s there like Jeff Gluck etc. always a bias in these types of channels.
I came to say the same thing… It’s one race! A track that toyota ran tests at and teams had extra practice. If Toyota dominates 4-5 weeks in a row… then I’d be worried.
Lingering on Alex Bowman’s feet for so long was EGREGIOUS!
They were hoping they would see ANYTHING exciting. But even the footwork was so god damn boring because of how little struggle there is to put the power down in these cars.
Toyota really came to play today! Shout to Erik Jones. Before getting into the wall and the slow pit stop, he was running rlly well!
Im really always rooting for jones. I hope he can bring a revival to petty
I can’t believe this track is still the title race when it really should be back at Homestead
Daytona increasingly getting closer as an option
Charlotte world 800 should be the championship race. A test of man and machine.
@@whiteeyes3743I want Charlotte, but SMI isn’t gonna get a finale date. NASCAR would be losing out on a lot of cash if they got rid of a facility they put a lot of time into for a track they don’t own.
@@dstocker1495Daytona being the season opener and the 4th of July weekend race just feels right. Sometimes historic traditions shouldn’t be changed. It feels like they are trying to make too many unnecessary changes to chase a new casual audience all over again. But they haven’t been in the middle of a boom in popularity to justify the attempt.
I agree. This is not the track to determine a championship! SAD!
We need full practices every week
Yes!
Maybe not at the 1.5 milers, but everywhere else for sure.
Christopher Bell was impressive as hell today. Awesome win!
This felt like manufactured drama lol
I’d like to see a rotation for the Championship Race but with a twist. Whatever track gets the championship race, does not get a second date in that season
Had the same idea. Doesn’t make the early race just a test bed for the Championship race. Now weather is going to be a factor, so we are probably still stuck with Phoenix or Homestead, but they can at least alternate.
Im gonna go against the river stream and say that the race was actually pretty enjoyable, not the best but there were still some good action in today’s race
There was decent movement. Most people just like wrecks, but the same people complain the trucks wreck too much and never get to race
I agree. The winner came from 20th on last restart. The most exciting track? No. Good multi groove racing and pit strategy, Yes. I don’t understand all the hate.
I’d say it was definitely above average for phoenix we had comers and goers there was definitely ability to pass and some cautions mixed and some strategy mixed in can’t ask for much more from a race than that honestly not every race can or should be an atlanta
And not to be that guy but I get the feeling a lot of the people calling it bad have only started Watchung after atlanta
And it was certainly more entertaining than last week I don’t even remember anything about it other than larson won
The alternative is NASCAR throws a phantom caution with ten laps to go, they all wad up on the restart and wreck 15 cars. Fans want the races to play out but not every finish will be ATL24. I don’t need races to be flag to flag entertainment when at the expense of team’s performance.
The one thing I’ll grant Eric is that because of this being the finale track, Chevy & Ford will have to fix their short track setups because there will be at least one Toyota in the final four and if nothing changes, that driver will be hoisting the trophy at season’s end
I agree with having the championship race being straightforward instead of chaotic.
Reddick restarted that final run a position or two ahead of Bell, then spent the run struggling to pass Noah Gragson of people! Shows how strong Bell was to get past Reddick and then win the race by a massive margin
Also, Gragson was in the top 10 until the last 4 laps when he was passed by a couple cars behind him
