The Bristol Spring Race has been run on Tennessee clay over the last theee seasons for the Bristol Dirt Race. After loud fan outcry and drivers not wanting for the experimental event to come back they have all gotten their wishes. Starting from 2024 onwards it seems that the Bristol spring race will be run on the normal concrete layout for now. So, will the concrete Bristol Spring Race stay this time?

Do you think the spring Bristol race on concrete is here to stay?
For now, I’ll say yes
yea
Concrete ….please….
It may have to leave again if there is too much McDowell Supremacy!
No and NASCAR Add North Wilkesboro Speedway become Point Race replace Bristol Spring Race for Good and One Bristol Date race with Night Race become of Crown Jewels and move to Summer become Summer Night Race at Bristol and NASCAR Add Real Dirt Tracks Eldora Speedway Dirt in Summer become Summer Night race.
In my opinion, the real answer will come with the weather. The spring race at Bristol has always been plagued with bad weather and if that happens again, it could dictate whether spring Bristol is here to stay.
No such thing as permanent in nascar my friend
@@Baptistbowhunter Unless you mean the proud egos at the top of the ladder.
@@nascarfanatic2425 I meant in general. NASCAR is always changing
@@Baptistbowhunter Yeah, and that can be for a variety of reasons.
2:30 “They’re using the intermediate package.”
Really? At Bristol!?!
And here I was expecting a total snoozefest!
It’s based on the banking and track surface not being the same as the other NextGen tracks with the short track package, Dover does the same thing
They’ve always used the intermediate package at Bristol with the next gen and both the concrete races so far have been pretty mid
I think it’s time they just got rid of the spring race entirely. It’s always effected by weather & the attendance is so bad it’s almost like a ghost town.
And it’s one of the least-watched races for a while now
@@S.K.R.E.Inc. View count?
NASHVILLE FAIRGROUNDS COME ON DOWN
There’s going to be less people there than the last 2 years and the racing’s gonna be worse, can’t see it sticking around especially with how desperate they’ve been trying to sell it as the throwback race mom says we have at home
Bought 6 tickets with my wife’s college discount bringing 3 new timers trying to do my part
I actually liked the dirt
Same here. Last year was perfect and in my opinion was the best short track last year
Same .
I liked the dirt just hated it was on Easter
If Fans wanted this from the start, then they better show up to the track
Yeah, and endure ripoff pricing that not just the track does, but so do hotels, parking, and food places do as well? Economy’s been on the rocks for 16 years now
The biggest problem this event has always had is the date. Way too early in the season. Constantly fighting cool, rainy weather. If they moved it back 3-4 weeks we would see a major difference. They should be at COTA this weekend, or Sonoma, then Martinsville and Richmond. Use those two short tracks as build up to Bristol.
Yeah I think Bristol should move to the month of June or in very early May.
I like the night race better, because it feels more intense than the spring race.
4:00 that shadow made me think I was trippin lol.
Anyways, since they’re not running the short track package at Bristol, i’m hoping that the day race is going to resemble the intermediate races. We’ve been having in the next Gen era.
Both concrete Bristol races so far with the next gen have used the intermediate package and personally I don’t think they were very good so I’m going in with low expectations
@@Jutho3121 oh I thought the one last year ran the short track package
This is all interesting stuff to think about, but still:
IT’S BRISTOL BABY!!!!!!
As a California boi, I’m super excited for the Fontana shortening. Always dreamed of going to Bristol for the night race, but Tennessee a bit too far to drive from my neck of the woods.
I go to the Bristol Night Race every year. I absolutely love this track (even the dirt Bristol). But I honestly think Bristol, Along with almost every other track on the schedule, should only have 1 date.
Easy way to fix the attendance issues is give each track only one race per year
That’s not going to happen!! Daytona? Talladega? Darlington? Charlotte? Some tracks deserve two races a year!
Honestly, I don’t think most fans were clamoring for them to go back to the concrete like they’re trying to spin it. I think the loud ones were on Twitter and social media but, I really enjoyed the dirt race and kind of wish it stuck around. *shrug*
The dirt race was fine, wasn’t my favorite, but wasn’t absolutely horrible, it was a novelty.
@@polycube868 exactly. There wasn’t some fevered push to get rid of the dirt race like they’ve trying to make it seem. It was ok. Kinda like the spring race most times lol
@@seanwilson9117 I personally think they’ll move it to Nashville or North Wilkesboro.
Bristol dirt was actually good last year. Unfortunately, you can’t make any changes without nascar fans getting upset.
I’m one of the fans who enjoyed the dirt race but missed the concrete for the spring event. Imo, Bristol usually produces great racing, which we’ve seen a ton of over the years. I feel like this weekend will be great
I don’t think it matters how the race weekend goes, it doesn’t seem like something here to stay because either North Wilkesboro or Nashville Fairgrounds are bound to get a points race. And I do think they should have some dirt races. The 2023 schedule was the practically best and most versatile in NASCAR history.
Or a roadcourse
Bristol should have only one race a year, and that one race should be the August night race. Move it back to its traditional August Saturday night spot. If I’m not mistaken, the deal with SMI & the city of Nashville states that NASCAR can only race at the Fairgrounds every other year, so one year you race at the Fairgrounds, then the next you race at Nashville Superspeedway.
Biggest issue with the spring race that has been haunting it for over a decade is the weather. SMI was crazy to think the spring race needed something different because nobody wanted to show up for it because of the racing: nobody showed up because it would rain every single darn year and it might even rain this weekend like they just have to move it to a better time of year
