Broken records, worn tires: Cup Series returns to concrete racing at Bristol | Extended Highlights

It's Bristol, baby, and it didn't disappoint. The concrete spring fling at Bristol Motor Speedway had the highest number of lead changes since April 1991. Catch the best of them and everything in between in these Extended Highlights. #nascar

Haven’t seen a race where only 5 ended on the lead lap.

I’m pretty sure they said it was the first time in 20 years

@@MrJohansenYep. Dover 2004 was the last time per Mike Joy.

That was bar none the best short track races in the Next Gen era. Hope they don’t ruin the tire for the next race.

@@FlopBrosHockeyno I’m being genuine. I genuinely couldn’t look away from today’s race. Let the teams figure out how to get the most out of the tires and leave it be.

They need to work out what’s going on with tyres and the resin on the track…

That was a much better race on concrete. I love dirt track racing, but it Hass to be on a dedicated dirt track like Eldora. Man that was just fun to watch.

KEEP THE TIRE! We need them rooks to learn how to race at hard tracks more, all experience in the top 3.

According to what the Goodyear guy said that’s the same tire they had at the night race last year. He said the resin was wearing the tires out more than he expected.

54 lead changes.
Tire wear and tire management.
Drivers having to drive the cars.
5 cars finished on the lead lap.

That was a phenomenal show. Way to bring spring Bristol back. This is what short track racing should be with this car

I was there yesterday! Like 5 or 6 cautions were due to tires becoming powder.
