I kinda respect Elliot’s decision. As much as it kinda sucks, he wants to race and wants to succeed and if he feels the Netflix thing will hurt that then I respect his decision to not do it. He was so down on himself for getting hurt last season and not being able to compete. He doesn’t want something similar to happen again

Absolutely! If he’s healthy he can compete with Larson I believe as a top 3 driver week in and week out, but you can tell he’s still not healthy, so him being down on himself and seeming distant makes sense to me.

You can’t get blood from a stone. Chase is most popular driver because his dad was most popular driver, and he’s remained most popular for the same reason his dad did: he’s a nice, quiet guy who wins his fair share. The kinds of things that would lead a driver to gain popularity through a Netflix-type show are not the kinds of things that Chase Elliott does. Even if he did the show, he’d only affirm his fans, not gain a huge swath of new ones. The juice isn’t worth the squeeze.

Don’t blame Chase, for not wanting to have cameras following him around everywhere. He wants to go fast and compete for wins, If a netflix series gets in the way of him doing that, he is not going to want that hassle around. His father was kind of similar, soft spoken in a way. Everyone seems to forget how private Dale Jr was in the 2000’s. He didn’t want the spotlight, didn’t want the attention, just wanted to be left alone and be himself. It was not until the brink of retirement that Dale Jr realized what he was for the sport and what he could to do if he embraced the limelight. Chase is the same way that Dale Jr was at this period of his career.
