COTA XFINITY POST RACE – SVG V. AJ, Buschwhacker Favorites, Penalties

The NASCAR Xfinity Series has had a slow start to the 2024 season, but a road course like COTA may turn it around. Will it be the first good race of the season or will the Buschwackers stink up the show?

Please take Xfinity to Beistol in the spring and Wilkesboro but don’t dump COTA for it. Please remove stage cautions and OT. I wonder if Dale Jr is part of the anti road course crowd.

literally nobody was on the anti-road course crowd until they actually added them

WOW…That 30 second penalty killed SVG but it was still a good race. Can’t wait for the Portland race. Congrats Kyle Larson.

I actually like the idea of penalizing going outside of the track limit… HOWEVER it makes absolutely no sense that NASCAR would only enforce track limits in 3 of the 20 turns. It’s really stupid that a driver can get a drive through or 30 second penalty for cutting a corner by a single inch, when in the very next corner they are dropping 2 tires in the damn grass with all 4 tires outside the white line which is considered track limits in EVERY SINGLE RACING SERIES that races there.

And the only reason why they do it is because there’s no grass at all in the esses. Meaning that somebody theoretically could straight line them if they didn’t enforce track limits. Every other corner has grass that can self-police on the inside.

@@TankSlappr Not really, in turn 19 every driver drifts at least 3 car lengths outside the track limits on exit, and the cut the corners of the next 3 turns after the esses with no consequence.

@@TheCloudCreation NASCAR views extending corners differently than cutting corners even though you gain the same amount of time.

Cutting a corner is different to taking a really wide exit

Reply
@CrusaderFan March 24, 2024 at 7:06 am

@@dranthappens It means you can carry a lot more speed through the corner and keep up it on the exit, when you allow drivers to use the run off areas, as part of the track.

Nobody deserves anything. You need to put yourself in position to take advantage of opportunities as they arise, just like Larson did!

SVG had that race sewn up til NASCAR pulled their usual bullshit and turned it into a crash Fest.

Nascar isn’t interested in good racing. They want viral finishes to draw in all those ‘fans’ that will last 10 minutes.

V8 Supercars stewards advise the team immediately of a penalty during the race, as a drive trough penalty. As a outsider, Nascar need to look at track limits similar to V8 Supercars
