Denny going to 23xi isn’t too hard to imagine

@bostonwarrior4824 March 25, 2024 at 8:13 pm

And it makes sense too. I mean right now it just seems to be a lot for him to drive for another organization, whereas 2311 they are all on their own now, they aren’t even affiliated really with Joe Gibbs racing even anymore, besides being the same manufacture. So he has to compete against his own team and that doesn’t make any sense, so yes, you’re right it makes too much sense and that is definitely a logical thing for him to do.

@tstuff1213 March 25, 2024 at 8:21 pm

Not hard at all. 23Xi is supposedly a building ground for Joe Gibbs so Joe could totally snipe Reddick to replace truex or Hamlin. Then hamlin goes down to 23Xi to try and bring the team up

I think Corey Heim is gonna drive the 11 for JGR after Hamlin because he is already a relief driver for 23XI and Legacy Motor Club.

Chandler smith will probably get that ride if Denny leaves to drive for his own team!

Heim will probably not drive for JGR based on the fact that there’s a rumor that he and Ty Gibbs had beef which is why he’s never had a chance to race at Gibbs in xfinity

As long as JGR can get good sponsors for Hamlin, he will stay there.

Reply

They can’t. Last year fedex announced that they are trimming fat to cut cost, this year he’s had 5 different sponsors in 5 different races.

Or someone younger comes along that GIbbs thinks is better than Denny. He’s done that several times to his drivers like Matt Kenseth and Erik Jones.

My guess is Gibbs lets him take the #11 with him to 23XI (just the number, not the charter) and JGR rebrands the 11 as the 18. Once Hamlin’s done driving the #11 car is effectively retired.

Reply
@americanwalmarts3565 March 25, 2024 at 8:22 pm

Are we retiring #11 from Joe Gibbs Racing, or NASCAR overall?? Because the #11 is the most winningest number in NASCAR, because of Darrell Waltrip and DH11

Denny may just make a deal to effectively buy the number and then eventually the 23 and 11 will both be full time younger drivers

But Kyle Busch’s 18 isn’t? Haha. Denny is nowhere close to KB.

I think people forget that Bowman was leading the points before his injury last season.

Reply
@MLGProSwag69 March 25, 2024 at 9:28 pm

He was leading the points but if you watched the races he was clearly behind the 24 & 5 on speed, he led less than 50 laps before his injury and both Byron and Larson had multiple races where they led that many laps in a single race in that same 10 race stretch.

@MLGProSwag69 while he was slower than the 5 and 24, so is pretty much everyone else in NASCAR, what Bowman has tho is untouchable consistency. Think along the lines of Matt Crafton’s truck championship (or career in general), very VERY few wins, but great consistency and gets a ton of points

Reply
@nomadman5288 March 26, 2024 at 1:17 am

@@MLGProSwag69 Okay, but he was still leading them in points despite that, which means he was more consistent and eventually that consistency usually leads to a few wins over the course of a season.

I’ve been saying maybe Denny’s last year can be with 23XI and he could bring the 11 over since it is in the team name. Joe Gibbs could then use the 18 again since it has such prestige with the team with I believe 3 championships.

Before the DQ, Haley had an average finish of 19.2 with back-2-back 17th place finishes. In addition, he was 26th in the standings, 2 points behind Hocevar for 25th. My bold prediction was Haley would finish top 25 in points. Shame the DQ happened

Truex Jr. pitted lap one because he thought he had a tire going down from the contact but after the pit stop it was found the contact actually broke the rim and it had a piece missing. I believe fully that Denny will most likely retire from full-time driving after driving at least one season for his own team most likely because Gibbs replaces him with a younger driver they need to move up or risk losing.

That is honestly the best move for Denny. Why wouldn’t he drive for his own team. It would be like whenever Jimmie Johnson runs for Legacy.
