It’s kind of silly to arbitrarily police a section of the track, but not the rest of it. Having stricter track limits would improve the product and would overall be a good thing. It doesn’t need to be at F1 levels of silliness, some sort track limit rule should be implemented.
I’m not a die hard elliott fan or even a hendrick fan but I can say that look I don’t think that should have been a penalty he got loose and he saved the car from spinning out and potentially cause a wreck and another thing is that he didn’t gain anything from that. I just think the rules should handle better like you have Tyler Reddick at sonoma last year and he spun out because of a flat tire and he couldn’t make it all the way around the track because that would cause a caution you can find the replay of that moment. another one that should have been a penalty was in 2020 talladega denny went under the yellow line because I think their was almost a wreck but it didn’t happen well he shot to the yellow line and stayed under the yellow line for a long time and even got the lead and won that should have been a penalty their is also a replay on that. These rules needs to be handled a lot better and be a lot more understanding
Short cutting the course? Except for one small section ,yes. They should do a car inside track limits so all can see how much time is lost, as well as why these cars are not built for Grade 1 circuits.
