NASCAR on FOX is in the midst of its 24th NASCAR season in coverage. With the new 2025 TV deal NASCAR fans are locked in through year 31 with FOX Sports. With that being said it becomes more important for the broadcasters (who have already received large criticism since 2017) to improve. So, we need to talk about NASCAR on FOX… again.

What would you want for NASCAR on FOX to improve?
everything
joke
most things but most important commentating camera work and visuals
I think They should Improve Their Commentators and Camera Work In My Opinion.
Bring back Digger.
Less ads
For cup things got better but no where else
I want Larry Mac back In The Booth!
Larry isn’t really willing to travel anymore
Pull those belts tight one more time!!
@@IvyLeather13 Love that line.
NBC > FOX
NBC has it’s own extremely glaring issues.
@@crystaljon true but no one speaks of them
@@crystaljon Even so, They’re still better
Not even close
You won’t be saying that when NBC takes over this summer.
Wish they didn’t cut half their staff during Pandemic including Matt Yocum.
They cut matt and Alan cavana because of “covid ” but then hired Josh Sims not even a year later
It’s a shame that apart from a brief run with the SRX on both CBS & ESPN, Yocum has yet to find regular work since he got let go by Fox. Hopefully the addition of both Prime Video & TNT will allow him to return.
Yocum has actually been doing reporting for IMSA on NBC. Not sure if he does more but that’s all I see from him
If I was in charge of FOX, here’s what I would do
1. Put Adam Alexander and Jamie McMurray in the booth.
2. Get rid of the stupid Cartoon Characters.
3. Get Clint Bowyer out of the booth.
4. Stop showing kids in the crowd.
5. Hire new broadcast people to the control room.
Harvick and Mike joy are good tho
@@jbucktheman A 4 man booth could work if done correctly
@@cito1101 NBC booth does that and it can be too crowded at times
What’s wrong with the kids in the crowd? It’s cool for them to know their getting a quick a show on TV. I know if I was a kid and got shown on TV and saw it on the broadcast later I would be thrilled lol
For me, Harvick’s made it more bearable than it was but just one big change isn’t going to fix the problem. Which is something that is a constant for NASCAR nowadays.
I don’t mind it when old drivers like kevin harvick, clint bowyer, jeff gordon, etc are talking about the racel/old stories/joking around. What I have huge issues with is how a crash can happen and they not show us it, how hamlin jumping a restart doesn’t get shown even after the checkard and it takes a whole race to be shown, how they cut away from stuff getting good. Those are huge issues
They’ll show telemetry during any other time of the race but with that restart, they were just like “well it does look like he jumped early….” and left it at that
The booth’s biggest problem is there isn’t a good split between the driver and crew chief/team perspective like there was with DW and Larry Mac. Having 2 drivers in the booth at the track is a great loss as someone with a crew chief perspective can give more technical and strategy insight. Larry Mac was great at this but I doubt he’d come back full-time like he was. That’s what NBC still excels at with having Steve Letarte in the booth. Bowyer is annoying half the time anyways.
Yeah larry said in interviews he doesn’t want to do full time
The camera work is a joke. They miss too many wrecks and action and the unneccesary zooming in is ridiculous.
Thats not really the camera operators faults, the directors and producers tell them what they want before the race.
@@Aventador3088 that doesn’t negate the criticism. The cameramen don’t need to take it personal if that’s the case. But it needs to be fixed and when they do they should be proud they got it right and bettered the sport. It gets frustrating when our constructive criticism to a declining company doesn’t get resolved and just like any relationship it gets fractured years of denying constructive criticism just becomes resentment.
Harvick is quite good in the booth. We can all agree on that
Get rid of Bowyer
@@tonybanke3560 he tries way to hard to be goofy and wild
@@jbuckthemanMeanwhile he’s monotone and boring the other 90%…
@@gripen777 bowyer is?
I disagree, Harvick is GREAT in the booth. I absolutely love him and Mike Joy….however Bowyer…..to me, he’s like Jeff Gordon but worse.
Zoomed in on 2 car shots when a 6 car shot was easy. Never saw Busch, Keselowski etc barely Truex.
Kevin Harvick has been a major upgrade this year. But they still make blunders with camera angles and shots or panning away at bad times that are inexcusable
The worse miss by FOX so far this year was for the Trucks. Completely missed Caruth passing Taylor Gray for the lead at Vegas. Missing wrecks (especially at the Clash and Martinsville 2 smallest tracks) is bad but the pass for the win essentially was worse.
Can we just get NBC to host all the races please this is embarrassing.
One thing I like is the leaderboard on the left side. I get a better sense of the mid-field racing, because we all know the cameras won’t show that.
The first 10+ years of Fox were great. It treated NASCAR with respect and had some fun with it as well. Now it’s treated like a joke. I hate when to go to segments during race action and go to full screen on the segment name for a few seconds, and that takes away from the viewer from seeing racing. The booth has gotten better this year, but overall Fox doesn’t present nascar like a big important event. Especially when they moved the pre and post race coverage to a studio. Hopefully with 3 new TV partners next year, fox will finally step up their game
Has anyone brought up the final restart from Richmond? No one even knew Denny jumped it at first because when the restart happened, FOX was focused on the last third of the field going through turns 3-4 instead of the leaders.
And the announcers blamed Larson for the caution…at least Bubba fessed up on camera
@brucewatkinson9592 but he didn’t wreck Larson
It was just an incident. Tends to happen when you check up right in front of a car from getting loose on corner exit
The downfall start since Larry Mc leave FOX both in 2016, is not the same without him.
Get rid of front stretch interviews and bring back victory lane
After carrying SHR, Kevin Harvick is now carrying NASCAR on FOX
