it’s prolly gonna be difficult, using an automatic Gallardo as a parts car for a gated manual Gallardo. ScrapLife Garage recently did a manual-swap on a fire-destroyed Dodge Demon and he said it was difficult because of the work needed on the ECU and the engine itself.
Hey strad I was the guy you saw in the ranger the other day… Man that aventador is sick in person. I saw your last video and saw how different the one wheel was on the 812. My dad does powder coating up in West Jordan and I’m positive he can get it done right as he’s the best man I know with colors! Super cool seeing you and the carbon fiber beast in person ✌️
@@Porscheontop You just randomly came across my all time favourite youtuber that I’ve been watching and basically idolising for a decade? Man. I’m considering holidaying in the US (I’m from Australia) just so I can do a Stradman tour of all the locations he visits. Obviously not his house as that’s a clear violation of his personal privacy but all the fast food, the dealerships, the workshops, Clayton and Faith’s shop. It’d just be so surreal to see all that stuff in person. You’re a lucky dude. James might just be the nicest guy on YouTube.
Yeah man, Utah is an amazing place to live. Been here all 37 years of my life. Definitely not a bad place to visit. And yeah, no creepin on peoples privacy.
Time to call Mat Armstrong, he’s about to be even more super-experienced on these – it would be great content, plus a sprinkling of Freddie Tavarish and you’re golden.
James, for what it’s worth, I’m really glad you’re ditching the TT’s on the Gallardo. That car is truly special and it doesn’t need turbos to be what it is to you and me. Yes, it’s special to me too. I’ve been here since 80k subscribers. If it weren’t for this car, I’m afraid you probably never would have done YouTube full time. I’m grateful for you, your parents, your Gallardo, and every decision you’ve ever made that lead us to this moment. Love you buddy!
i love this dude good luck with everything! and im glad to see your love for cars over the years evolve into you doing some of the work as well!! its one of the best feelings when you fix something yourself lol
Glad the Gallardo is going back the OG Stradman days but if it’s unrepairable, it should go up on the wall since it is a historical piece of the channel.

DDE Dave has had that VF Engineering supercharger on his car for years now and has had zero issues with it! Boost doesnt have to be from turbos ya know a blower does the trick also and VF has that game on lock with thier kits. But a car that has been gone through like this one has i can one thousand percent see why nobody wants to take it on. Liability is insane!! Glad its still goimg to be around tho!!!!
Why not swap the 2 motors. Put the built blown one in the yellow galardo then the new working motor into the old one. Then u have a galardo spider to build properly with any extra cash you have, you have a almost stock orange galardo. Just a thought
From the moment you’ve said you wanted to modify the OG Gallardo I thought it was a bad idea – IMHO it should have stayed stock for exactly this reason – it was the OG, and it was the symbol of the channel – I hope my opinion did not magically influence the outcome of this adventure, but it sure feels like it was a mistake in the first place. Glad to see you made this choice! 🙂

I’ll be honest, that you’re returning the Gallardo to original makes me happier than it probably should
being the OG I never understood the risk he took with the TT, was bound to go south if you ask me

That Galardo NEEEDS to go on the wall…
I agree. After all its been through, this holds character sitting up on display.
He said he had an Idea to memorialize it. And he needs to take the engine out anyways to mount to the wall. I am calling this too
The yellow one 100% should, it symbolizes the first supercar he owned!
Tbh, if he does it, it isnt a surprise, he said he would hang a car
That is only his plan..

That would be awesome hope this goes through!
Ya the aventafor is sick jn irl i saw it at sema
Now that’d show what a strong community we are!
Met this dude randomly at my local Harbor Freight. Genuine nice guy, sat and chatted about cars for a few minutes before we went on our way.

Mat’s busy with his own Gallardo lmao, he recently crashed his TT Gallardo. Plus he’s working on a Mansory RR
@@joe13c00l2And the G80 no? So he’s basically working on 3 cars
Bring it to my shop and let’s get it sorted, dude!
Comment for the algorithm
A Matt Tavarish Strad Collab would be something else !!!
yessss
Totally agree

Him buying the oragnge Gallardo was the first vid I watched of him. To us and Strad, more so, that car means so much.
Ngl, looking forward to the Gallardo swapped parts content. It’s relatable and something I’ve done on my car with headlights and etc.

Turn the OG Gallardo’s engine into a coffee table. That would be super cool, plus nobody has to deal with working on that engine anymore.
Liking this comment cuz that is a FANTASTIC idea
Liking to bring this to the top. I know a guy that has a Viper V10 coffee table and it is so badass.
Didn’t Top Gear have one engine with a glass top? It looked really cool
@@ashstunes6642 im with u man
You actually have a point lol that would be sick and remember he was joking of doing it to the Veyrons titanium exhaust

Wen ur done with the car you can put it on the wall
He will never do that. He loves the car so much unfortunately. I like the idea but let the man do what he wants as its his first ever expensive baby
I expect the Spider will end up on the wall.
It can be repairable
No not on the wall

Different motor – the 2nd gen gallardo is a 5.2 versus this is a 5.0
Dave’s got a LP car tho. They don’t make superchargers for non-LP cars i think
Great purchase, I hope that you are able to make some videos of the actual engine/ trans and parts to the og car
Finally, some actual relatable car content. Not just screaming whilst driving a super car one handed. Look forward to the next videos

Huge ups to you strad. You make the impossible feel like a cake walk with the way you approach with pure tenacity
Returning the Gallardo to stock is the best thing, it’s a staple of the Channel, and it needs to come back.
