The terry labonte throwback is the best one since the ross chastain dei throwback
I agree. Don’t forget trackhouse did both cars that weekend. The Suarez version wasn’t as cool as the #1, but it was pretty close.
Yeah But Teresa Had To Make Them Change It 🙁
@@BraydenBunch58 you’d think she’d be running out of money by now and willing to make some kinda deals for rights to use Dale Sr/DEI imagery.
I’m goin to Watkins Glen in September I can see a flip now
Might see a car fly to the moon
I don’t think so it takes a lot to flip now I’m sure you are probably thinking about the 2011 flip that was because because of a crash and what wall he hit nothing do with weight of the car
@@johnathanjohnson5367 I know what you’re sayin I don’t think it actually would cause a flip just makin fun of the curbs plus I was also in there in 2011 also
@@GortTheCapybara320 I’m camping from Wednesday through Sunday
So glad they are finally running the cornflakes scheme hopefully they run the frosted flakes scheme next
Frosted Flakes has to be next haha

Love the Terry Labonte throwback scheme, definitely going onto the top throwbacks of this year! Can’t wait to see what other throwbacks we’ll get!
We going to see big wrecks at the bus stop. I could see this repeating the 2021 Indy Road Course in the Cup and Xfinity Series.
that is what I thought too when I saw the pictures. Someone is gonna get pinched down there, or your gonna have more people miss the corner all together due to a car on the inside line push them out.
@@camaroboy1968ssI could imagine the big one happening on lap 1.
I think it will work out way better than Indy
So, the problem with the bus stop is the G force from cutting the corner. So, nascar adds a bigger curb. They will still drive over it.
Honestly, they should consider making the curb lower and embracing the cut or consider adding a tire wall to prevent the cut all together.
If it completely destroys the car, they can’t drive over the curb.
@@tescoshortageand think about the tires the cup cars has thin tires vs the Xfinity cars and the Arca cars so those cars have thicker tires so it absorbs more vs the thin tires which I’m sure people who put thin tires on their vehicles can probably relate when going over a speed bump even going slow it still doesn’t feel good
That throwback scheme for Larson is the BEST Throwback I have ever seen… who knows if even Trackhouse can match that with their throwback schemes…
The reason the drivers are seeing so many G’s is because the cup cars are so stiff now. The Xfinity cars are WAY more forgiving.
Again, I’m calling BS, I need a better explanation on how they’re experiencing 11g’s there. F1 guys peak at about 5g’s. The space shuttle is about 9-10g’s.
@@nikkoperrellathat’s a lot of gs
@@nikkoperrellaThe difference is shock vs acceleration. Kyle’s data is shock data (hammer). The space shuttle example is acceleration (centrifuge).
Watkins Glen should be sponsored by Allegiant. Those bus stops will have those cars higher than 3CHI.
They should’ve left the track alone!
@@miketwotwentyI can’t find a flaw in his logic, this change is bs, years of no complaints, and now they decide to change it?!?!
@@Yeetmaster94 I agree!
@@Yeetmaster94 Probably a vocal minority of fans asked for this.
Oh yay sausage kerbs in NASCAR. Totally wanted that after all the great things that have happened with sausage kerbs in F1
F1, WEC, Lemans, Australian Supercars, BTCC, and DTM.
@@benwalter4842 pretty much FIA lmao

Stay off the curbs… problem solved. It’s the driver’s responsibility to stay on the track. If you make corners that can be cut, they will be. Drivers are going to be more willing to risk a penalty from NASCAR for cutting a corner than they are to risk penalty from damaging the race car. What’s the point of having a “racing surface” if you don’t have to stay on it? Drivers cutting the dogleg at Phoenix ( I think it’s ridiculous that NASCAR allows it) and don’t mind the jolt can’t very well complain about the jolt when they hit the curbing at a road course.
@@HMSTITANS That’s not the issue. If a driver hits the curbing, there’s a small chance they flip, and similar curbs have killed drivers across the world. It’s simply dangerous
you’re right, the Bus Stop isn’t broken, Turn 1 is Broken. the lack of Track Limits destroys the racing
Hands down the best throwback scheme…Kyle Larson’s #5 car what a great tribute to Terry Labonte.
Now imagine an actual Kellogg’s Corn Flakes partnership w/Terry, Kyle and the #5 Kellogg’s car all over their cereal boxes…
It’s a missed opportunity if you ask me…
It still looks great…
I can see why Kyle is the one supporting the Watkins Glen change and those with no Cup Series experience don’t see the point. Most other stock cars don’t run very stiff setups, their construction isn’t rock hard either, which we could see for years when drivers were jumping the curbs at Sonoma, for example…
The Gen7 is unbelievably stiff, not only with its construction, but also the suspension setups teams use to maximize speed and get as much downforce as they can from the underbody.
That’s why Kyle feels like his brain is getting rattled around in his head over the curbs
Yeah but the gen 7 races similar to a gt car!
You said that “Gen7 doesn’t jump the curbs as much, because it’s closer to a sportscar”.
It’s much more similar to a V8 Supercar and they are FAMOUS for flying over the curbs
I’d love to see all the Hendrick cars do a 90s and early 00s throwback. Rainbow 24, Kelloggs 5, Lowe’s 48 and GMAC 9 maybe.
I’d like to see a Tim Richmond or Kenny Schrader #25 scheme in the future
@@fivespeed42 same
That Watkins Glen Bus Stop with those kerbs could become a lot like Australian Supercars running through the Beach Chicane at Surfers Paradise. The cars (very similar to the current-generation Cup Car) bounce off the kerbs and fly through the corner complex, it’s quite spectacular to watch as well as being the fastest way through the corner
Was thinking exactly the same thing. Should suit SVG nicely.
I’m on board for the huge turtles at cup races. There used to be a lot more passing at road courses before they made all the cars the same, but there also used to be more passing at road courses when they didn’t have as much runoff. Back when they actually had to woah up and let off the throttle, just in case they weren’t gonna make the exit of a corner which gave chance for the guy behind to close in for the next braking zone, but this doesn’t happen bc they all blow the corner exit limits every road course they go to
I was just thinkingabout this scheme about 3 weeks ago and how Larson should run it at Throback Weekend.
Can I also add: What happened to the special All-Star Race paint schemes they used to run? Bring that back!
That zip line camera at the Watkins Glen bus stop is one of my favorite camera angles of the entire season and I wish other tracks had it. Yes I remember what happened and acknowledge the hazards.
