I think he’s doing Indy 500

He’ll be qualifying for the Indy 500 the weekend of the nascar all star race so he’ll miss practice and qualifying, but should make it back for the race

Wait, how does Kevin Harvick lose his All-Star eligibility? Is he not a past Cup Series Champion? Could he not run his own entry without running the Open?

He has no ride

@@QuantumOfSolace1 How does that answer why he can’t qualify the 5?

His last win was in 2022. Had he won a race last year, he would be eligible. Even his lone championship victory in 2014 won’t help with the eligibility as he never started a race this year (since he’s retired from full-time racing).

When you retire from your job do you still get to go back to your old office?
He left his job. He’s not a nascar cup driver anymore? So why would he be eligible?
That’s like claiming he can climb in the car tomorrow and just start racing back with his team.doesn’t work like that.

Early start to silly season! Jeff Gordon or Kasey Kane would be better , and let’s get Ray Evernham back up on the pit box ! Much more exciting.

harvick after the race: “yeah i feel pretty sigma. our car was pretty rizzy tonight, gyatt enough for a top 5. it’s a shame we couldn’t win it, but let’s hope larson can slay his way to a win next week.”

Kyle Larson is going to qualify for the Indy 500, so Hendrick is putting Harvick in the 5 car on a if need be basis. Chances are Larson would probably run the NASCAR All Star Race in the 5. So don’t think of this as a one off return for Harvick.
