I’ve been told by someone who works for the cars tour who also works for nascar that he is 99.9% sure Pheonix will not host the championship in 2026 so we can at least be hopeful that it will change

@@GymLeaderEllie we all understand that. We know it’s the car but it doesn’t matter what it is. The fact of the matter is it’s not good racing at all. It’s follow the leader for 20+ laps. Until they change the car the finale needs to move

there’s no way they get a charter. Charters are worth more than 40million bucks, maybe even 50 million. Dale Jr said he would consider buying a charter for like 10 million dollars or 13 million dollars back in 2021. So, yeah, 2024, I don’t expect Jr Motorsports to pursue a charter.
Copyrights aren’t something you have to renew. They last for a very long time. If he uses a different font and NASCAR gives him the number, it’s his. If he styles it the same as the 1/15/8 from the DEI says he might run afoul but his stepmom doesn’t own those numbers. That’s why he can use them for his teams in Xfinity and you see them in use in other series.
Hell, Daniel Ricciardo runs Dale’s 3… explicitly… and no one is out for his blood.

@@evolveVIII she’s probably got a grudge against TrackHouse because in 2022, they ran a throwback to Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. when they tried to use the 1 font, she sent a cease and desist letter
To me, It would only feel right if the branding is JRM. The number Font, the building, etc. Otherwise it just doesn’t feel right.

Briscoe, Gregson and Custer will all be in good rides next year even if SHR is gone. I think its more likely they just sell 2 charters though.

I heard a rumor stating that SHR could still have their Xfinity team running. If it ends up being true, then probably Custer & Riley Herbst would stay in the 00 and 98, respectively
SHR sells 2 of its charters and then sells the whole SHR operation to Dale Jr. This is my prediction.

@@johnhaas2523nascar is different today but I can’t help but assume that there are a lot of sponsors that would want to slap their name on an Earnhardt owned cup car. Mark Martin said at one point while he and Junior were at Hendrick sponsors were damn near writing blank checks to get on the cars.

If SHR does shut down, I wonder if RFK is an option for Briscoe? There’s the Ford connection, he drove for Brad, RFK is looking to expand, and RFK was one of the finalists for the Mahindra Tractors sponsorship back in ‘22. Might be a great fit.

When I started watching NASCAR in 1989, I got my daily news from Speedweek, hosted by Bob Jenkins. Then I switched to Jayski, now OOTG. Thank you Eric for keeping us in touch with daily Nascar news. Keep up the good work.
Here’s a fun idea: Stewart-Earnhardt Racing. Haas sells his portion of the team, and they become a two-car team co-owned by tony and dale. They switch to chevy, keep gragson and either briscoe or berry, run the 14 and 88 as their car numbers

Agreed. NASCAR retains Rights of Refusal on who’s allowed to be a team /charter owner. But they stand back when charters are being mentioned as being “up for sale.” They WON’T say to a charter owner what the sales price has to be…
