SHR is falling apart at such a fast rate
Yet their cars are…
Better?
Nah they just have 4 good drivers instead of 1 great driver 2 good drivers and 1 over the hill driver
Better-ish
All those SHR employees need jobs next year so i think theres a sense of urgency by the shop and the drivers
Its negative motivation but its the only motivation it seems SHR has had in a while
The soft tires from this years all star race should be the new primary and make another soft set that actually falls off
I know Kevin and Tony are friends but Kevin tells it like it is. As a Kevin Harvick fan it is sad to see SHR fall like they have in just a few years. But let’s be honest from 2014-2020 it was Harvick and the 4 team doing the bulk of the work. That 4 team was a powerhouse not SHR as a whole.
Like a true friend
I think Tony checked out on SHR. He was out drag racing and running in Cleeters Indy race two weekends ago. Then he is out dirt and drag racing somewhere else this past weekend. Tony has already said he finds no joy in NASCAR and their constant gimmicks have affected racing, he hates the cookie cutter cars. The total lack of imagination from massaging gray areas now just off put so many veterans. Some are just hanging on to make money others want those charters permanent which would give them a vote in the future and an ownership stake in NASCAR.
@@midwesttrainchasers8587Kevin’s tough love. He’s gonna tell you what you need to hear not what you want to hear. I would rather have friends like that
@@ThorneyGryffonhe is full time in the wife’s top fuel car and everybody knew that since January as the wife wants to start a family
@@johnhaas2523It is Tony’s top fuel car as my dad reminds me. Tony owns the car, not Leah.
Off topic, but in a way, I wish Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was able to continue in the All Star race, and 2015 Matt Kenseth to Joey Logano Kyle Busch. I really wish. That would’ve been sweet revenge.
F1: Lando finished 7 tenths behind Max!! So close!
NASCAR: hold my beer
Who cares how close NASCAR finishes are when half of it is manufactured BS through stages, phantom cautions and “overtime”? F1 isn’t always the best racing, but at least outside of DRS, it’s actual racing without carnival attraction gimmicks.
@@pdxholmesF1 has several gimmicks in itself. Sprint races exist now and they’re selling out big time to America and the Middle East. Those two areas make up like a third of the schedule there now.
F1 is gimmicky af
@@pdxholmes F1 is nothing but gimmicks! The biggest 1 is having to use 2 different tire compounds. Now Nascar is trying to copy that garbage!
It makes me wonder if Harvick would have continued for another year or two if he was driving for Hendrick.
He’s a sellout
He was ready to retire 2 years ago. Look at his age and kids getting older and both into racing he was ready to be a father and watch the kids races
@@T.N.D.88I cannot blame him, driving for a team like HMS with their amazing NASA like program would be a dream come true. Maybe Harvick will pull a Martin and drive for HMS to end his career.
For crying out loud Dale Jr just buy out Tony’s portion of Stewart-Haas
Nah buy Haas’ portion of it, gene haas does almost nothing
@@Jet1672just brings the money
What he should do. I think he could afford it and should take the leap, but with the fact teams are losing money, it takes time to recoup money or you may never recoup money.
@@Jet1672same thing with the Haas F1 team… Just a rolling billboard for Gene….
Let’s start a go fund me
Tony just lost all interest in NASCAR when a manufacturer dictated he couldn’t hire a driver he wanted.
Fact
Yep, as a Briscoe fan first and a SHR fan second, you can just tell Ford telling him “No Larson” was the turning point. Then the dude jumps on Hendrick and wins a championship his first year there. Tony checked out after that and it shows
Who?
@@MeDoe-zr1jf Larson , FORD straight up
told Tony he could not hire him. And that was just about the last time we saw Tony at any cup races.
Plus NASCAR decided to have a dirt race at Bristol and didn’t consider running it at Tony’s track Eldora.
They need to do the tire tests at night to get the best read on the tires.
My question is when Ford wouldnt let SHR hire Kyle Larson was that the straw that broke the camels back and then that’s when they truly started to fall apart that’s what happened and it pissed Tony off and he washed his hands of it all after SHRs contract expires with Ford
Who knows but I think Tony and head of Ford performance are all good anymore
Did seem like a turning point….
Tony missed out on both Kyle’s
Seems like it, ESPECIALLY after Larson won the championship. Tony had to be seething at ford, probably why they let him sign Gragson
I agree with that as well because Tony wanted him so bad on his team and when that didn’t happen I think Tony was on his way out after that. Especially the fact ford wouldn’t take Kyle
The Goodyear tire failure this weekend was really weird. At first, before the cars touched the track, no one thought the tires would last past 30 laps, then after practice their supposed life span increased to 50 laps, at the start of the heat race the next day the booth said 75 laps, then by the end of the day they didn’t wear at all within 100 laps. It really baffles me how Goodyear was so far off the mark and brought a tire that they thought wouldn’t last 30 laps, but ended up lasting the entire stage. Sure, the teams adapted and I bet laying down so much rubber, smoothing out the standpaper like repave didn’t help, but for Goodyear to be that far off their estimations tells me whatever aimulator or data they are basing their calculatiojs off of needs to be re-calibrated because they missed the mark ENTIRELY last weekend.
Goodyear, that is the answer Goodyear just doesn’t know
Or Goodyear needs to calculate based on things like just rubber being laid down and temperature.
Hey Firestone and Hoosier, we may need a backup plan over here!
I think the tire they brought will be perfect at any other short track if they are running at a track temp of 90 degrees or more.
I don’t care what they said about the abrasiveness they tried to get in the new pavement, it’s still new pavement and was never going to create excessive wear, especially at night with a 70 or so degree track temp.
They need to make another, even softer, tire for new pavement and low track temp races.
They also should bring at least two options to every race and select the one that will wear the fastest based on raceday conditions, in case it is significantly hotter/colder than expected.
Well all the practices were in the heat of the day so it not really surprising that they didn’t fall off as expected
well hell, i just watched that episode, i thought it was todays & this was a second one.i consider this a bonus OOTG.
Imagine how many more wins Harvick could have had if he went to Hendricks or Gibbs. Smh. More championships too
Indy, Charlotte, & Monaco!!! What a weekend of racing.
Agreed… Not much sleep next weekend
It all started when Ford wouldn’t let Tony hire Larson and he went to HMS.
Tony checked out the minute he got involved with drag racing
Short tracks & road course they need to make the wheel& Tire more narrow. Maybe 2-3 inches more narrow
Uno-Tread
Less grip
Regress do original Treaded tires. Equaling less contact patch?
The 1-2 combo of Ford saying NO to Stewart getting Kyle Larson into their car and then him following it up with a Championship at Hendrick was the moment Stewart disconnected.
That timed with Gene’s focus to F1, its been downhill from there.
