While i would have preferred Neil Bonnett and Harry Gant getting in…..This class is a good cross section of guys who did alot of good for the sport

My favorite driver when I was a kid (Ricky Rudd) and my favorite driver when I was growing up (Carl Edwards) inducted at the same time? What a great day.

I used to like Ricky Rudd when he drove for his own team, Robert Yates, and the Wood Brothers. Congrats to Ricky “The Rooster” Rudd.

Only 23 wins in 906 starts and no championships. I’m sry but that’s not hof worthy.

Well, Ricky rudd won the 1997 brickyard 400, overcame a scary Daytona flip on 1984, taping his eyes open just so he could race in the Daytona 500 that year, beat a failed cooling system to win at Martinsville in 1998 and won his final race at Sonoma in 2002 at the age of 45. He also had solid points finishes throughout his career despite not winning a title. I think Ricky’s tough enough to get into the HOF.

It’s a popularity contest.

There’s drivers with less wins an 0 championships in there. I think it’s more of a “driver’s who built the sport” type of induction.
