If Kyle Larson doesn’t get a waiver, it’ll further prove why the playoffs are a joke and he’ll probably just do sprint car racing for the rest of 2024 if he somehow doesn’t get a waiver

@@loganpinner5212 he was first in points now 3rd and he already has 2 wins. The last ten races are the playoffs. There’s 13 races left before the playoffs and 10 for the playoffs.

Chase Elliott got a waiver (even though he didn’t qualify because of points or win) despite missing several races due to a non racing injury, so he better.

As people were saying in these comments, Kyle shouldn’t get a waiver because he chose to stay at the Indy.
Maybe Chase Elliott shouldn’t have gone snowboarding.
I’m not trying to be mean, but some of these comments are asinine.

He doesn’t deserve a waiver, he made a personal decision to go race at another event and miss the Nascar event. That deserves a waiver? A personal decision?
What’s the point of having waivers if you’re not going to stick to the rules of waivers.?

He deserves the waiver. He will get one. Good PR for Nascar.

This double attempt had been in the works for a long while. They also knew ahead of time that weather could potentially cause delays. I doubt Team Hendrick made the decision they made not having a good idea about a potential waiver being granted.

Further, NASCAR needs more good publicity like this, not less of it. They had more eyes and news coverage on today’s event than they would have had otherwise. They know that. Disqualifying their season points leader and one of the most popular drivers in the sport over a weather delay would be an asinine thing to do. They know that too.

I’ll bet anything conversations already been had in the weeks leading up to this event and Team Hendrick had assurances or at the very least tacit confirmation that they’d be ok if Kyle somehow missed the start of today’s race. It’s a rather dumb rule, anyway. The events of today being a prime reason why.

NASCAR should have resume the race tomorrow morning at 12:00 noon Eastern Time. This is the second week in a row they have really made some very very bad decisions and upset many fans

The were already past halfway, so it couldn’t be done. And let’s be honest, if they did resume it today, they’d be accused of favoritism towards Larson and Hendrick.

He Absolutely deserves a Waiver.
A cup driver put an Indycar 5th on the grid and showed the Indy guys that the cup guys are good allrounders.
It was great PR for Nascar and Indycar.
Noone could predict the weather that either delayed the Indy start.
Or the weather that shortend the 600 race.
This sort of crossover is good for both series.
There Should be more of it if drivers want to do it.

So we know he is getting a waiver…but we have to be told that he “deserves” one? The media has pushed this story so hard…must be such a disappointment that it was a failure. Not on Larson…but more so on Nascar who manages to botch pretty much everything it touches.

I was really hoping he would’ve did 100 percent of both of the races, hopefully next year

NASCAR has some very stupid rules nowadays. And, NASCAR bent rules for many other drivers. So, why not do the same for Larson. He definitely deserves it. Kyle BUSCH did not deserve a waiver but got one anyway after missing 14 races in 2015. And won the championship. That’s LAME!! Shame on NASCAR!!

Your right the Pr both series got from this is invaluable so if they don’t do it they will lose more fans than they already have that’s the only reason I was watching hoping to see how many laps he was going to do

Don’t he already have wins for the playoffs y’all making no frigging sense !!!

@godsmacking99 May 27, 2024 at 1:13 pm

You have to start every race in the regular season to be eligible for the playoffs per the rule, whether he’s already clinched a spot or not, it doesn’t matter, the rule says he’s ineligible now. If Larson were to be denied a waiver (which he won’t), he wouldn’t be able to race in the playoffs.

Nascar has granted waivers 100% of the time for situations like this and there’s no reason to think they wouldn’t here too.

@godsmacking99 May 27, 2024 at 1:08 pm

Why are we pretending that it’s even a possibility Nascar will deny him the waiver? It’s done already and he’s getting the waiver, he wouldn’t have raced in Indy if he wasn’t 100% assured by Nascar that he’d get the waiver.

He went into the situation knowing the consequences.

yep, that he would get a waiver.

He will get a waiver. He was an ambassador for the sport in Indy.

@bw6891 May 27, 2024 at 3:45 pm

No waiver, No Way. he made the choice to be at the Indy knowing he should be in Charlotte. He is my favorite driver, but he chose this situation. If he had been in Charlotte for NASCAR there would never be a story here.

Doesn’t the win get him in anyway ?

Yes larson Should get a waiver he was going to start the 600 but storms and Safety Concerns caused NASCAR to call off the race its not Larsons fault he didn’t Start the race. So hope NASCAR gives Larson the waiver take Care.

Kyle has already won 2 nascar events in 2024 so he is already in the playoffs why would he need a waver?

Reply
@dd-uj8jx May 27, 2024 at 5:41 pm

Nascrap needs to move the 600 too Monday again

@kellyjones334 May 27, 2024 at 5:42 pm

Kyle Larson will bring a lot of people to Nascar. More people then any advertising could bring by itself. If Nascar don’t give Kyle a waiver…they will be known as the house of fools
