Stewart-Haas Racing is shutting down. It is something that would seem impossible only a year ago but after years of turmoil the team finally is shutting its doors, changing the look of NASCAR forever. With this we have a lot to look at when it comes to the future of their drivers and charters and where they go from her for the rest of the year.

What was your favorite SHR moment?
2011 championship and the team turning Kevin Harvick into a NASCAR champion and legend
Winning their 1st championship.
Danica giving us a comedy routine every week
Rejoining NASCAR to see Harvick was still behind the wheel. I rejoined in 2020, first race I watched was in 2017.
Heartbreak.
I was just thinking now, it’s only a matter of time when Jaret uploads this.
Feel horrible for Berry, he just moved up to the 4 and is already forced on his way out the door.
Should have stayed at JRM and gotten a championship
FRM will likely buy at least one SHR charter, and that could be a ride for him so he can stay in the ford camp. RFK is also also a possbility but I think thats less likely. Eric made a video all about predicting silly season if SHR sells all 4 charters and I think it makes a lot of sense. But silly season is always unpredictable
Should’ve stayed at jr motorsports…
Don’t feel bad for a man making $800,000 / year to drive a race car
Poor Noah, and Briscoe… hate it for them…
They had a good run while it lasted
I hope so. Briscoe to WBR is one thing but I hope Gragson lands at RCR. I’m tired of Austin Dillon finishing 27th every week in a playoff caliber car.
Briscoe and Berry might get a shot with the potential teams getting the charters
@@austinemms9772 apparently FRM want 2 of SHRs drivers.
@@kharnthebetrayer1575 Yeah, but I’m betting it’s Cole Custer and Riley Herbst. With Custer once again proving his worth in Xfinity, my prediction is that he gets the #34 and Herbst gets the #36 due to having sponsorship money from Monster Energy.
Not surprised but still feels shocking. Never good to see a competitive team or an icon like Tony Stewart leave the sport entirely. Very sad. Harvick carried them for a decade but overall they have improved from last year so far.
I feel really bad for Gragson. He is showing what he can do in decent equipment. I hope things work out for him.
He should be fine
He knew what he was getting into signing with SHR. He’s at the top of most wanted drivers right now for sure.
In loving memory of Stewart-Haas Racing 2009-2024 RIP.
The Downfall is SHR is similar to decline of Yates in 2008 due to a mass exit of sponsorship.
i got to put blame on nascar as well. they kept pissing stewart off and it finally broke the camels back and now stewart wants nothing to do with nascar. when the owner wants nothing to do with the org running the show it is over.
And Furniture Row a few years ago.
@@Dratchev241 It’s really bad when the other half (Gene Haas, who is a former convicted felon) is more interested in a sport that’s far more hostile to newer, younger teams than NASCAR. I’m more upset by the loss of jobs at a time when skilled labour and specialised work are at a premium and getting rarer by the day. But as they say, “money beats merit”.
Yates declined with Elliott Sadler’s 2005 season collapse and Dale Jarrett being inconsistent all season
Tony’s championship run, and his 2016 Sonoma win will always be very memorable even as a Hendrick first fan.
That last win for smoke had me stop working so I could listen.
NASCAR should be renamed to the Hendrick Performance League.
This team didn’t even last a full 10 years after Stewarts retirement
It only lasted a couple after Harvick retired.
This is so unfortunate. But I think we all saw this coming after Ford essentially let Larson walk. Having Tony Stewart potentially holding a grudge over the OEM for these past 4 years was what I suspected about their declining performance. Gene Haas trying to find interest somewhere else, like trying to improve his already struggling F1 team, certainly has added too much salt into the wound for the patient to remain alive. I’m not sure if that’s an appropriate analogy, but that’s what I’ve got at this point.
Goodbye forever, Stewart-Haas Racing.
Best thing that ever happened to Larson. If I were a comin upper I’d want to drive for a winning team, not some second rate Ford team.
The end of another nostalgic team is gone and my only favorite moment was when ryan newman won the brickyard 400
I really think the 2020 Martinsville Fall Race really broke the morale of SHR. That may have been the reason on why the drop in preformance in 2021 onwards.
No. Tony racing crown vics and whatever else instead of leading his team was the downfall
@@BwInNewJersey Yeah, exactly. When you have two absentee owners, it’s inevitable that they were gonna shut down.
2018 with the big 3 was my favorite Kyle Busch Kevin Harvick and MTJ winning every week was just wild
As an F1 fan, if HAAS doesn’t show any improvements within the next few years, then it wouldn’t surprise me if Gene shuts that down as well.
Or sells to Andretti/GM
And if that happens, expect a long list of buyers ready to buy it as it is a way to enter F1 without having to go through the difficult steps (especially when it comes to dealing with the politics of F1) of starting a new team. Just ask Andretti how difficult it is to even attempt to make the grid. Speaking of Andretti, I think he would jump at the chance to buy Haas if it is presented to him.
Haas probably isn’t going anywhere but it is expensive.
