Hamlin probably had the quietest 2nd place finish I’ve ever seen
It’s good for him tho
My thoughts exactly
Denny Hamlin has everything put together this year, it’ll be a miracle if he finds another way to throw the championship
Tbf he was third
Forth if you include Bell
One big thing that is huge is the fact that not only did Blaney not win but he lost out on 20+ points in a race where he could’ve collected 50 points he got 25
Finishing 24th was brutal, fell 23 spots on the final lap
I don’t think Nascar understands the amount of backlash they’ll get from not only fans but drivers and very big names from owners and manufacturers
Competition officials don’t give a f*** about What fans think about it and they’re not paid to care about what fans think about it
@@johnhaas2523 they’ll give a f**k when people stop watching.
So that’s a reason not to enforce a rule?
Agreed. This would be like if a driver missed a NASCAR race for Garage 61 or whatever. They were hugely hyping this up and it was done in conjunction with Chevy.
NASCAR hyped it up for Indy and it was good PR for both series. The suits in Daytona need to see not granting Larsen a waiver and then adding teeth is being short sighted and have no clue the backlash they will receive.
Grats to SVG getting his first Xfinity win! That Xfinity race was a banger
He drove the Hell out of that car didn’t He
@@MichaelWilliams-vb6wrhe did even with that damage!
Yes!
Larson already proved he is playoff worthy with his 2 convincing wins and a Championship that should make him playoff eligible. What the Hell is the advantage of winning a Championship anymore without the perks?
He’s not eligible for the playoffs since he missed the start of the 600 and so far no waiver
That’s not why he should be eligible. His best argument for eligibility is that NASCAR themselves signed off on him running the Indy 500.
@@Glitchunlocked Not Missing the 600 they never signed off on Larson Choosing Indy over the 600 Big Difference. Hendrick should have had a Backup Driver at Indy nascar if they did approve Him to drive the 500 They never authorized Him to say Live on national tv that i choose to stay here in Indy over the 600 ,They would never sign off on a Thumb in their nose .No Waiver .
If Larson doesn’t get a waiver it ” Proves ” that Nascar is a joke!!!! Last year they give a guy a waiver that missed 7 races! 1 of which was a suspension! He could have bumped someone ” Bubba Wallace, that didn’t miss any races. That alone is enough to guarantee Larson a waiver. I think there dragging it out to draw attention away from how much Fox sucks at broadcasting races and the deficiencies of the cars.
@@kevinstephens1109 He got the waiver.
Eric it’s time to move up Keslowski on the Power Rankings – how many more impressive performances do you need to see out of him?
I’d say he’s top five right now.
Many believe he would have won the 600 had it not been called. He was reeling in Bell.
Eric Estepp has woke Toyota bias
@@zyx777zyx
Nah, the Toyotas are good this year, especially Denny. I just think Eric is just not jumping to put Brad in top five after a few good races. I still think Brad is top five though.
Truex was a real straight up guy helping a teammate with a blowing engine.
Yeah. Too bad his day was ruined, he was following Bell through the field when his tire blew.
@@rocksreviewsreactions337 Agreed. I’ve always liked Truex….especially the year he won the cup with a small low budget team. Total respect.
Is a “blowing” engine the same as a “sucking” engine.
@@LyleFrancisDelphe wouldn’t help Hamlin if that happened to him!
@@johnbaskett2309Bart Simpson says yes.
In my opinion having BK 7th is a little disrespectful given its power rankings and hes on probably the hottest streak in the series currently other than Hamlin.
I don’t really think Eric likes him that much truthfully
Agreed he should at least be higher than both Reddick and Truex. Since even though they can be fast they never finish races right now unlike Brad who is constantly fast all race and getting top 5s almost every week now.
I agree 100%… Kez should be ahead of Truex in the rankings, but Eric Estepp’s woke Toyota bias always comes through in his videos
“The NASCAR rulebook is written in pencil” -Darrell Waltrip ✏️
The rules are what they say
On that particular day
@@areasevenpro You don’t think the France family is paying for crayola when they can get surplus #2 pencils from the local school district, do you?
Nascar loves to shoot themselves in the foot.
Without giving waiver they will prove its not written in pencil.
NASCAR owed it to Larson to be 100% clear he would not receive the waiver PRIOR to the double attempt. They were aware of his plans for like a year. They enjoyed hyping it.
NASCAR is going to wait as long as possible to drag this story out. “Will Larson make the playoffs or will he be denied the waiver? You’ll have to keep watching the rest of the regular season to find out”
So why wasn’t it Hendrick’s responsibility to ask nascar what would happen if they stayed at indy. The rule was written in the book for all to see.
I agree with this. If they told him and he then chose Indy, then don’t give him the waiver
@@stephenadams5293do you have information that Hendrick didn’t have this exact conversation? Or or you just assuming….
@aaronb4936 if they did, they would already have a answer.
Chase Elliott is having a very Matt Kenseth 2003 type of season
For everyone saying “He Chose to stay in Indy”, Chase Elliott “chose” to right rear Hamlin last year. All of the suspensionable offenses were choices of said driver. The consequence was a suspension and NASCAR still allowed all of them to be eligible for the playoffs
Not even comparable one was suspended the other volunteered to miss the race
And Elliott shouldn’t have gotten a waiver either, I’ve said that for awhile. He also shouldn’t have got one for the broken leg from snowboarding, and Bowman shouldn’t have got one for his broken back from sprint car racing. When Busch broke his leg that was in a NASCAR event. Waivers should be for injuries sustained from a NASCAR event, illness or family emergencies that’s it plain and simple.
@@AlexEvans-dm3yl I think right rearing someone at those speeds is less deserving of a waiver than choosing to miss the start of a race.
@SlideJobRacing Exactly my point. At least the reason for Larson to miss the race wasn’t because he got mad and threw a “heat of the moment” temper tantrum and sent somebody nose first into the wall at 180+ mph. I’m a Hendrick motorsports fan and I still don’t think Chase deserved the waiver last year. When you do something like that, you put people at unnecessary risk of injury
Imagine that NASCAR doesn’t give Larson a waiver and then Larson goes on a winning binge and finishes the season with 8 or 9 wins. That would definitely show what a fiasco the playoff system really is. Any so called champion would not be legit.
Kinda hopes that happens
If NASCAR gave a waiver to someone they suspended they should definitely grant Larson a waiver.
Watch them not grant the waiver, then Kyle wins the regular season points and what would be the overall points. That would effectively end the playoff system, and I hope it happens.
Hahahaha It wouldn’t do a damn thing to the playoffs
We can dream but that’s all that is, a dream.
@@darthhull85 Dream came true.
Briscoe said it best – “If they do not grant Kyle Larson a waiver, that will deter anyone from ever racing the double again”
On top of that, it’s not like Larson didn’t attempt at all to make the Coke 600
He made no attempt that is a Lie . He said the ossopite live on TV .nice Try that is like saying if your aunt had a penus she would be your uncle . Stop lying.
Right? he was there ready to get in the car when they called it for rain with a dry track. if the 600 is as big a deal as they say why not finish it? or hell, they have to drive 5 minutes to get there just continue the next day where most people have off work.
@@Acklapa_14 The rule is you have to Start the race not over half way Start lap 1 He blew it off . He screwed up His whole Deal . Busch finished 6 th . at INDY . No part timer going to win at indy .
The rules have always stated the race is official if it’s past the halfway point…which it was. They only run the next day if under halfway or if they can’t get it started at all.
Plus by trying to do the double…it brought a lot of eyes to the sport…which is a good thing. I’m sure Hendrick and Nascar were having conversations when the thought of him running indy first came up. Nascar isnt stupid (I Hope)…they should issue the waiver and be done with it. The weather was bad in both places…something totally out of Kyle’s control.
What I heard you say is Nascar is upset, Nascar is frustrated, Nascar needs control & authority. That is not the way to run a successful business.
Drivers get playoff waivers after getting suspended for intentionally wrecking other drivers, but you can’t grant Larson a playoff waiver after he missed a race due to mother nature??
