I’d be surprised if Suarez or Zane gets kicked out. Suarez has already won this year and Trackhouse seems to like him. I think Zane should take a year in the xfinity series. He was rushed to cup too quick, but I doubt that’ll happen. I think SVG will stay with Kaulig for another year in xfinity and Smith will move to a 3rd Trackhouse car with Chastain and Suarez.
Zane Smith is out, he needs a few more years at xfinity and trucks, Hocevar being the 3rd trackhouse due to Spire wouldn’t be farfetched.
SVG in cup next year
@@knightofthenine3121couple more years at trucks? I mean xfinity sure, but he made the championship 4 3 times in trucks and won the championship wtf are you talkin bout “few more years”
@@centracy5834 his experience with the trainwreck that is the next gen car has been terrible to say at least
It’s simple, Eric post I click, and I get entertained. It’s that easy!
Could Zane Smith go to the Kaulig #16? Provide both driver and team some stability, and both teams are in a partnership already
I personally think that is a very real possibility
I’m thinking Zane and SVG switch. SVG goes to Cup, and Zane to Xfinity. This gives Trackhouse time to decide who they want to keep long term, and allows the drivers to keep their butts in seats while having a chance to grow.
I also think Zane got kind of a raw deal, as getting rushed up into a Spire/TH collaboration car probably isn’t as great a move as he was anticipating.
This has gotta be the BEST opinion ive seen regarding the trackhouse situation
But McDowell has already been announced for the 71. No room at Spire for SVG.
@@powder4360 Trackhouse can still buy a charter from SHR. Stewart Haas has 3 charters left, they can buy one and put SVG in it
@@willyb2427 I was just saying that the Zane/SVG switch wasn’t on.
I think Zane will get the 3rd Trackhouse seat.
I hope SVG gets the Kaulig 16 full time.
@@willyb2427they already got one and nascar isn’t letting anymore 4 car teams , they wanna keep it at 3
I wouldn’t mind having an electric series as a supplement to the top 3 national series. It’ll probably take a good long while for it to get its feet under it, but there are a lot of doors that could potentially be opened for stock car racing.
As far as Trackhouse goes, it’s not even really a question, honestly. Suarez has been disappointing in some ways, but I don’t think it’s all him. The team as a whole has been on the struggle bus since Chastain pissed off Rick Hendrick. Suarez isn’t a generational talent, but he’s proven that if he has the right car at the right track, he can win. He’s not a waste of space. He’s also a good voice in the sport, and that can’t be overlooked. Even in his current state, SVG brings a lot of the same things to the table. He can win, and he brings with him a lot of international attention. Zane Smith might be a great driver one day, but when you look at him compared to the other two, he’s not there yet. He’s nowhere close to being there. Trackhouse, I don’t think, is in a position to wait for him to find his feet.
I don’t think it’s really a good idea for SVG to spend another year in the Xfinity series when he’s getting older. Remember he’s almost 36 by next season. The average NASCAR driver only lasts around 40. so if he wants to get to cup, he needs to do it as soon as he can before his time of being good in his prime runs out. I think he would make a great third car and he would do way better than Smith has this year. I even think he can contend for wins regularly on the road courses.
He just turned 35 a few weeks ago. Yeah, he’ll turn 36 during next season but he’s not almost there yet lol.
@@Glitchunlocked yeah well by the start of next season, he will almost be 36, that what I meant. And idk man time is ticking. I look at a guy similar to him Ambrose, who once he got to like 36 he dropped off.. and then left the sport. I’m not saying it’s the same situation but I mean noticeable other drivers once you get to that age you drop off. Like I said the time is ticking he’s a good but he’s going to be good for so long. Needs to capitalize it when he can.
@@bostonwarrior4824 Yeah time is ticking, but I don’t think you should expect him the follow the same trajectory as Ambrose. Ambrose raced in NASCAR for nearly 10 years and in his best season, he finished 8th. His average finish is 18th. At the rate SVG is going, he’ll surpass Ambrose stats. By this point, Ambrose was already starting to fall off.
I agree. It seems like it’s the ‘old’ car that’s holding him back from better performances on the ovals. The Cup cars are more like he’s used to. No point learning to use an abacus when you want a job in computing.
@@GlitchunlockedAmbrose also drove mediocre at best cars throughout his entire NASCAR career so average finish of 18th considering who he drove for (JTG, Richard Petty) is pretty respectable at the least
Maybe Ford recognized shortcomings with Zane Smith more than we knew.
Saurez nearly made the round of 8 until his power steering broke at Charlotte Roval. The dude can drive and deserves a spot in the cup series.
He’s the reason I like Trackhouse. Getting rid of him would sour me on Trackhouse.
Yep same her
I agree. He was impressive in the playoff that year. Trackhouse as a whole dropped the ball a little since 2022. They need to stick together and get back on track as a team.
I think that was an outlier year, dude has been average at best his entire career
Suarez just needs stability, hes been playing monkey in the middle for his entire career after winning the Xfinity Championship
@@tylerhernandez5234gotta be real here, he’s had 4 straight years of solid stability by now (2021-2024), and has shown little to nothing. He has a superspeedway win and a single road course win which were both flukey at best. He’s mediocre imo and is a wasted spot.
I think SVG will preform better in the cup car than he will in Xfinity. The car is more like what he’s used to from V8 super car. WeatherTec will follow SVG wherever he goes.
And he is still part of the Red Bull family
@@stevemansfield3449SVG has a personal sponsorship endorsement deal (helmet only) with Red Bull, the Asia Pacific arm of Red Bull, not the International Red Bull arm.
SVGs endorsement deal with Red Bull is via the Asia Pacific office based in Sydney and it’s only for signage on his helmet.
The financial resources of the Asia Pacific arm of Red Bull is alot less than being signed under the international arm of Red Bull as a Max Verstappen or Sergio Pérez would be.
Agreed. He just needs to finish the year to learn most tracks. Then the Xfinity would no longer be useful to him since the cars drive so differently
Didn’t the V8SC cars also have solid rear axles like previous Cup car generations?
I wonder if SVG will get better being in cup just by driving the car more since it feels like what he’s used to? He said at Charlotte the Xfinity car was difficult and drives way different than the cup car
What if, hear me out now, Zane and Shane split the hypothetical 3rd Trackhouse cup car next year? Half and half. When either of the two isn’t racing they can run xfinity or trucks. And at the end of the year, Trackhouse can decide who they want. Just an idea.
That’s actually a really good idea.
That sounds realistic
Makes sense but at the same time i feel like theyd want one driver to get all the seat time they can of who theyre keeping as of now
Not sure I like the idea for the simple reason that SVG has a legitimate shot to win a race next season at a road course. If he wins a race next season but then isn’t playoff eligible because he didn’t start every race trackhouse would have just played themselves.
If I am owner of Trackhouse racing I would differently bye a third charter and my starting lineup in 2025 would be Ross Chastain, Shane van Gisbergen and Connor Zilisch.
For me SVG is a no brainer over Zane Smith.
1) SVG is FAR more popular and should not have a problem landing sponsors.
2) SVG is currently focusing on finishing races to learn the Nascar tracks, so his 14th average finish is actually impressive with that in mind.
3) ZS should* have a better average finish than SVG in cup *(though ZS is not making a strong case right now),
4) SVG can qualify the team to the playoff with a win at a road course (ZS needs more years).
5) After studying SVG, the dude is essentially a Kyle Larson type of racer. Give him enough time in anything and the guy will figure out a way to win.
Not to mention they could land a major Red Bull sponsorship
@@Dj_Not_NiceSVG has a personal sponsorship endorsement deal (helmet only) with Red Bull, the Asia Pacific arm of Red Bull, not the International Red Bull arm.
SVGs endorsement deal with Red Bull is via the Asia Pacific office based in Sydney and is actually tied to the Red Bull sponsorship with Triple 8 Racing the Australian supercars team SVG raced for previously.
it’s only for signage on his helmet and doesn’t cover any other type of sponsorship including on a race car.
The financial resources of the Asia Pacific arm of Red Bull is alot less than being signed under the international arm of Red Bull as a Max Verstappen or Sergio Pérez would be.
Red Bull also has a North American arm and any American based sponsorship agreements would come under their control and financial budget if Red Bull decides to make a return to US motorsports are pulling out almost a decade ago from the US market.
@@Dj_Not_Nice I wondering if NASCAR won’t allow it since Monster Energy is one of the 4 NASCAR sponsors.
I notice he still wears his Red Bull helmet, but it’s not on the car.
it’s because he only has a personal sponsorship endorsement deal with Red Bull via the Asia Pacific arm of Red Bull. It’s not on the car because that money would need to come from Red Bull International or Red Bull North America.
The Asia Pacific arm of Red Bull has less money available to spend on sponsorship and on athletes it uses to endorsed their product in that part of the world.
His Red Bull endorsement deal is actually tied to Triple 8 Racing the team he raced for previously in the Australian supercars championship.
Will Brown who will be racing for RCR in Cup at Sonoma is also a Red Bull endorsed driver for Triple 8 Racing and he will also have Red Bull branding on his helmet.
SVGs girlfriend/partner – Jessica Dane is a shareholder in Tripe 8 Racing as her father is the founder of Triple 8 Engineering – Roland Dane.
Zane Smith is 1000% not Cup ready. Carson Hocevar, his fellow Spire Motorsports rookie, is 20th in points. Zane is 34th. And Carson is driving a car that was 30th-ish in points with Ty Dillon, so Carson is massively upgraded that 77 ride. If you’re the team wanting to commit to the SVG experience, however long he wishes to stay in NASCAR, then you don’t pick Zane Smith of all people over that opportunity. Point blank.
I’m very late but, Zane Smith has not met expectations. I think he’s the odd man out
“I’m flying to NASCAR…” ummm…ooookayyyy… LOL
Eric. Do you honestly think SVG came over from New Zealand where he is awesome to run Xfinity for another year?? He said he wants Cup next year- remember? Guys we gotta keep up with the trends. Zane has
proven he isn’t ready for cup – needed to go to Xfinity.
40 teslas going around in circles doesn’t seem too interesting
But what if they could make passes on track? The next gen car can’t.
Don’t watch then. Simple as that…
So you watch NASCAR for the sound, not for the racing. Got it.
@@tlabus I mean, all of it matters in an overall experience but if you are smart enough to understand that an electric series isn’t intended to replace the top 3 series at all, then you can find a way to enjoy it for what it is. OR….just not watch .
