Race hub not the same without Steve Byrnes and Jimmy Spencer

This is just sad. Yes it was no longer the show from the glory days of SPEED but was getting better. This show was actually FOX’s best coverage of the sport sadly and unfortunately. It was no longer a necessity but a sports cable show that was nice to have.

Man, I remember in 1st grade back in 2015, when I would get home from school and I would watch Race Hub. And that kept going on until yesterday. I’m sad that Race Hub is gone as it made memories for my childhood lol.

I believe it fell off when Jimmy Spencer’s show Jimmy’s Take was cut. He was one of a few personalities that were critical of the racing product and his chemistry with Steve Byrnes was amazing. I miss those days, man.

I’ll admit, I never watched a full single episode of race hub in years. Nothing will touch the Steve Byrnes, Jimmy Spencer and Danielle Trotta days. Nowadays, I get my NASCAR fixed from the NASCAR we weekly podcast, and dirty mo media

NASCAR Productions is taking that over afaik.

It’s the only segment that gains millions of views consistently, so NASCAR’s doing it in house.

Will miss this show a lot. Will never forget Steve Byrnes, Danielle Trotta, Jimmy Spencer, Bob Dillner, John Roberts and a plethora of others who made Race Hub what it was. A fantastic news show about NASCAR with storylines on the track, off the track, from de briefs on the weekend shows when on track action was going on, to weekday shows where news and headlines of the race weekend were on and looking ahead to next weekends race. The fact that this show ended is just sad. RIP Racehub.

My favorite moments were radioactive Jimmy Spencer and the Steve Byrnes tribute.

Too bad SPEED can’t come back as a streaming service. We need a central place for all thing motorsports again

Reply
@cherylferguson8561 June 13, 2024 at 12:50 pm

I’d like that too. I see the future as being media companies taking little shares of the season so that, ultimately, fans will need multiple sreaming services in order to follow the sport. It will replace cable, where you have to pay for services you don’t want with multiple streamers where you will be paying for things you don’t want

I remember going to my first ever NASCAR race when I was 19 in the 2006 Bass Pro Shops MBNA 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Got to see Tony Stewart win and climb the fence right in front of me, I’ll never forget it.

But before the race even began in the early hours of the morning, I got to check out all of the merch stands, etc even got a pit pass into the garage area and pit road. One of my fondest memories was getting to see the morning SPEED show (forgot the name unfortunately) with Kenny Wallace, Jimmy Spencer and I THINK it was Jeff Hammond. I always wanted to see that show live and I am grateful I got the chance to see it. Awesome experience.

Worked on Race Hub for 4 seasons until recently leaving at beginning of February. Lots of fond memories from working on the show. Glad they gave everyone an opportunity to take a photo in Studio A before shuttering the doors one final time.
