That 2017 championship run will be remembered forever, but for me, another thing I’ll never forget was *that* performance at the 600 back in 2016. I believe he led like 392/400 laps that night or something ridiculous. It was a true statement of intent, not only to prove that the 2015 Championship 4 appearance was no fluke, but that he could win and dominate multiple races a season and be a genuine threat for championships.
As a Truex fan I knew for years that this day was coming, but I still wasn’t prepared for this at all. Truex has been my favorite since he won the championship in 2017, and I’ll definitely miss rooting for him every Sunday. ❤
I liked everything about this presser outside of Coach trying to glaze Johnny Morris for 10 minutes then giving resers and auto insurance a little mention.
MTJs pit crew lost him at least one additional championship (left/right tires on the last stop. He’s had a storied career, I appreciate his passion and consistency every week. No excuses, he shows up prepared to win. Thanks for the hard work MTJ! Great stuff Eric.
I think he had a good career. He has a championship, no super speedway wins unfortunately but 2017 was an extremely dominant year for him and his team.
The first time I saw Martin drive in person was Richmond 2006? In the Busch race he got squeezed into the backstretch wall and rode on his door. He finished the race after managing to pit by bouncing off the walls and the radio traffic had me in stitches.
The grearest career resurgence in history. 1st decade won 3 races (although contended for more wins with MWR and took Furniture Row to a championship 4 in 2015). 2nd decade won 31 races and had 1 of the most dominating thankfully championship seasons ever in 2017.

Note: I phrased it kind of weird, but Truex won ONE race in the No. 1 car, his second career win came with MWR in 2013.
@EricEstepp wasn’t that at dover when he was in 1 and won

Same thing in 2019, I’ve never been to a race that one sided before then and since then. He was truly dominant, and led by like 5 seconds all race
MTJ will forever be one of my all time favorites

as a Truex fan, LETS GO WIN ONE LAST CHAMPIONSHIP BOYS WOOOOOOOOO
Couldn’t write a better ending than that let’s go MTJ
As a Hendrick Motorsports fan, I’ve got nothing but the upmost respect for Truex. I hope he has an awesome last season

2021 as well. Slower stop let Larson in front of him and it was over.
Happened 3 years in a row after 2017 he took 2ed those 3 years
@@doomusrlc I was trying not to whine about it but couldn’t forget it.
If Truex can finish his career like Jeff Gordon did, that would be very special.. especially if he were to win the championship…

As an MTJ fan, I really hope he wins a couple more races between now and the end of the season.
