Prediction: Sam Mayer moves up to Cup full-time for Kaulig for 2025
Career suicide
I don’t personally think so, But we didn’t think that Briscoe would leave ford.
That would be a career kiler
@@nathan1sixteen You’re right, It absolutely would
@@BraydenBunch58 that would be what Eric was talking about DON’T do
If Chase Briscoe is rumored to replace Truex at JGR, who will drive the 21? Maybe Josh Berry signs with Wood Bros via Penske to drive the 21 despite the FRM rumors. Nobody’s talking about Justin Haley switching teams, maybe he’s also rumored for the 21 next year.
With Rodney Childers??
Yes please!
I think Ben Rhodes will be in the 21
@@1Mile3079 Oh GOD NO! I am tired of the experimental drivers in the 21. I want that 100th win before Leonard passes. Please bring Berry/Childers.
@@1Mile3079it’ll be one of the the current Stewart Haas drivers, likely Gragson or Berry.
Anything is better than burton. He should have been gone 2 years ago
I think he shouldn’t be in Cup consideration yet, he’s very young, maybe could get a part time ride, but not yet, needs time to develop. (Sam Mayer)
Out of the crowd should be a weekly segment!!!
I’m down for that too
I think it’s been the plan all along to bring him to RFK. If so, it explains why he chose Rick Ware.
How many more seasons do you think Brad races? It might be a while, but even if they expand the number of cars, you gotta think the most important decision Brad will make as an owner so far will be who gets his seat when he is ready to hang it up.
exactly i agree 100% thats the road Justin Haley put himself on.
They should rebrand RWR to Justin Haley Racing with the way he’s carried the team this year. His performance has been extremely impressive.
That car is basically a third RFK car. Brad is a magician at how he has turned his team and RWR racing around through their alliance. Why would Haley leave that???
@@seanlewis575rfk is on a whole nother level than rwr
Partially why I don’t think it would be bad for him to stay 1 more year. He’d be establishing his brand.
@@chloe-stephlis6281Stewart-Harvick Racing
NOTE: Justin Haley told media today he is “committed to RWR.” He says he’s committed to RWR’s process because of they opportunity they gave him. It will be interesting to see if any other teams are able to pry him away, or if those rumors are just rumors.
Honestly, isn’t it possible that Harrison Burton isn’t fully to blame for the 21s recent shortcomings the past few years? The 51 is improving, Justin seems happy or at least content at RWR for now, and the 21 isn’t an automatic huge promotion.
The only team I think that can lure Haley away is who he’s already aligned with… RFK! I think Haley has a plan to develop his craft at RWR for 1-3 years before joining RFK either through a new charter or eventually taking over the 6.
Haleys been crushing this opportunity. No doubt the best full time driver RWR has had.
I thought Justin signed a multi year contract with RWR.
Haley in 2023 signed a multi year deal with RWR. He isn’t going anywhere.
If you listened to his episode of DJD when he announced his move it sounded like he was a perfect fit for the company culture, so no shocker for me
Haley should stay where he is, that team is on the rise, Wood Brothers seems stagnant.
Wood brothers have a half-assed driver. Let’s not forget they won with Blaney and made a playoff run with Matty D.
I kinda want Haley stay at rwr it’s absolutely fun to cheer for good finish for him weekly
I think the problem with Xfinity is that the Cup series is filled with young drivers that have increased their talent so no reason to hire an Xfinity guy so driver like hill, Mayer, Creed, love, C. Smith and S. Smith would have to languish in Xfinity
Let’s not forget that from the drivers POV the truck races more like the Next Gen car. The Xfinity car is it’s own animal. A real driver can win in anything.
Silly season stuff, would love to see Josh Berry and Rodney Childers go to the 21 or the third front row car (if it hasn’t been filled already)
RWR is connected with RFK, who have become increasingly competitive. Seems like a foolish move for Haley to ditch them just when things are finally coming together.
Yeah but Penske equipment would still be an improvement
@@tonyschmitz1997debatable when the 51 has been better than the 21 and that RFK has been the best ford team all year
Personally I would truly like to see Justin Haley stay with RWR and make them a competitive team. That would be amazing and he’s doing great already.
As his daddy’s oil company is named “Terrible Herbst,” it seems rather fitting to use that name for Riley Herbst’s driving
Imagine if your Harrison Burton and literally everyone thinks you’re going to be replaced and sent back down to trucks or xfinity
If you sucked at your job as much as he does, wouldn’t you be fired or demoted?
Would be interesting to have Burton and Haley swap rides so we can finally settle the debate of “is Harrison the problem or is the car he’s in the problem.” I’d also like to believe the law of averages has to come into play at some point. Harrison has experienced a decade worth of bad luck in his time in the 21 car. Surely he’ll eventually catch a break and experience some occasional good luck.
@@teeneauxg8681The 21 is a below average car, and Burton is a below average driver.
I can see Mayer getting some part-time opportunities next year, but full-time I don’t think is possible until 2026 I’d say.
Couple of potential openings at that point may be the Kaulig #31, RCR #8, or maybe even a Spire seat
He might replace McDowell when he retires
yes i haven’t seen anyone talk about daniel hemric, and my original silly season predictions had svg in that seat
@@treehouse98 in my opinion hemric is overhated because at least he isn’t wrecking the car every week and brings it home in a ok spot
Mayer still needs another year or two in Xfinity to mature. He’s won a bunch, sure, but he’s also still prone to some of those “rookie” style errors. I think he clearly has the talent to race in the Cup series, so rushing him up without helping him work through the growing pains seems like a recipe for failure.
I totally understand Sam Mayer’s frustration even Kyle Busch’s son Brexton Busch has a RCR contract
Hamlin on his podcast had a point on Sam Mayer that he needs to stay patient and keep doing what he is doing. Since he shouldn’t jump up to cup if it meant the equipment he gets has him running 25th each week and should stay patient, keep winning in Xfinity and throw his hat in for a top ride. This offseason isn’t the time for Mayer to move up with SHR drivers looking for new teams.
Solid take. Case in point John Hunter. He’s a prime example of why taking a good cup ride later is generally better than taking a not-so-great cup ride now.
