Do you like or dislike the new NASCAR schedule rumors?
It’s okay I just wish there wasn’t new Hampshire or gateway. Put Michigan and Pocono instead
Do we know if it’s Nascar or SMI who put NH into the playoffs? I’d rather see Dover over NH and SMI owns both so they wouldn’t really lose either way but we fans would get a far better racing product with Dover
Wish Kansas was the championship race
Will pencil in Christopher Bell to move in to whatever playoff spot is after New Hampshire next year.
They better not remove homestead
Just for 1 season while they work on the concourse, stands and entrances.
They did
Gateway?? Reallyy??? I loved that race the week after the 600… Pocono to the playoffs would have been better to me.
Indycar is taking the summer slot at Gateway unfortunately. They managed to do it same week of Le Mans so it’s gonna hurt both parties
If it was a night race gateway would be better in summer. Other wise weather can be to much. It was hot and the sun just beats down on that track.
@@kdoggy-ttb-33 perfectly okay with it being a night race, just loved that spot on the schedule is all
Sitting here begging for a california speedway (Fontana) coming back 2025-2026
they already demolished it
2025 is already next year bro
Ain’t happening. It was a bait and switch
I’m pretty sure they sold the rest of the land
We just need 15 races at Darlington, 4 at Homestead, and 1 at Daytona.
If that means Chase can win the championship with Kevin winning almost a third of the races, I don’t see an issue with that
I’m ok with Homestead move if they can get a 2026 championship race. Loudon or Gateway would be fine but both feels like way too many flat tracks especially with a dry Phoenix finale. Give the fans the Charlotte oval since many hate road courses.
Charlotte would be an awesome championship race. Why does Nascar make things complicated? Charlotte is the obvious best championship race!
I will never understand the Homestead being the finale hype. I understand its where its been for most fans time of being a Nascar fan… umm same… and thats exactly why i dont want it at Homestead lol like yall want the same thing every year?
Dover should’ve been the in the playoffs and not New Hampshire. You avoid weather delays and add a unique track back to the playoffs. Gateway I don’t mind for the reasons given even if it’s not an amazing race. And adding on to Homestead, another thing to mention is Formula E will race there starting next year. And assuming it’s a multi year deal I’m sure they’d love a facility upgrade.
As someone who follows Formula E closely, I think Formula E is going to give Homestead one chance to put on a good race mainly because of the backlash they have received from fans (mainly West Coast ones) about Portland being taken off of the schedule for Homestead next season. If Homestead produces a bad Formula E race after the facility upgrades, I could easily see Formula E going back to Portland for 2026.
I used to go to the fall New Hampshire race every year with my dad growing up until they stopped in 2017. Their were more boring races that I remember than exciting tbh. But seeing Mark Martin get his last win, okay that one was worth it.
A reason baseball is growing is facilities and hospitality. Only 25% (im my personal opinion of working in sports) actually come just for the racing. The other 75% are looking for a fun experience. Homestead hasnt had to get that other 75 because the championship factor of its races. Without it, its pulled some glaring problems. Great track. But the track doesnt sell the entirety of the grandstands. I hope once Homestead gets facilities, they can host the championship. Until then, im still begging them to move it to Kansas Speedway.
Wish nascar and indycar did a march doubleheader at homestead next year
I’ve gone to new hampshire the last 4 years and the crowd has been packed since 2021 and more people would go saying it’s the only New England race in Nascar and it’ll be in the playoffs
Here’s my predictions as to how the Playoff schedule is laid out.
Round of 16
1. Darlington (Confirmed)
2. New Hampshire
3. Bristol Night Race
Round of 12
1. Kansas
2. Talladega
3. Charlotte Roval
Round of 8
1. Las Vegas
2. Gateway
3. Martinsville
Finale: Phoenix (Confirmed)
One thing that helps Homestead in terms of getting the season finale in 2026 is the fact that it will host a Formula E race next year & the FIA fully expects the track to upgrade its facilities in order to host that particular event. Homestead is replacing Portland on the Formula E schedule which may end up helping Portland get a Cup Series date (which would be the first ever Cup Series race in the PNW) due to Gateway being moved into the playoffs. Even if Portland does not get a Cup Series race, I fully expect the Xfinity Series to return there next year as a way of NASCAR maintaining a presence in the PNW.
If that’s the case than maybe NASCAR should use the road course, there at Homestead as the oval has the worst racing in NASCAR.
The one good thing about a late New Hampshire race, is that you might start seeing the Fall Foliage around the track.
That’s a good point! I had a dream one time about a Fall/Halloween-themed short track. Benny Parsons and Bob Jenkins were commentating it. I specifically remember one part where the camera panned over to some kids smashing a pumpkin outside the track and Bob Jenkins saying “Well that was rude.”
I’ll be blunt: The playoffs as a whole is a crapshoot, and it’s never going to be a true, legtitimate way to crown a champion to diehards anyway. So I say, make it a crapshoot, two superspeedways, two roadcourses, hell add the new detroit track. It’s all about chaos and game 7 moments, so embrace the shithousery
Although you’re right about the Playoffs, the problem with that idea is that legit would kill the ratings completely. Unless, that’s what you’re trying to go for. In which case, I still say just get rid of the Playoffs entirely, but that’s just me.
Not to mention yesterday only had 6 lead changes just feel they should figure out how to have this car work on the low banking more flat tracks
As a homestead resident I hate the new change however, as a nascar fan I understand the change. still really sad to see though considering the history
And for the Ugly: The fact that it still exists.
