Chris was a badass in a go kart and fellow kentuckian. Pretty cool to see old kart racers make it to nascar and be successful

I always thought of narrowing the tyres!

Chris is spot on with the tire solution for the Next Gen car. With the increase in width, these cars almost gained a fifth tire’s worth of grip compared to the Gen6 car, with a decrease in spring rate with the reduction of the sidewall. As there is natural attrition in wheels with damage and fatigue, this would also have a minimal cost impact on the teams. I think Nascar could solve so many of these competition problems by switching to a narrower tire on a 17in rim.

Gabehart is impressive. Hamlin has one heck of a crew chief there who likely extended his career. Those two probably have a lot more wins in them.
