I’m sooo looking foreward to the races!
I’m looking forward to it, it’ll be the first real race at Chicago, without rain, but I hope I does rain a little bit because it’ll be better racing. More slippery
*_Chicago time everyone! Here for yet another _**_#OutOfTheCrowd_**_ attempt. I can’t believe someone would do stereotypes on us racing fans. That’s a terrible, terrible thing someone could do. As for today, Happy independence day eric!_*
In That Case, NASCAR should Definitely Bring back Chicagoland!
This article reminds me of reading front page reddit comments about NASCAR
reddit 100% lol
Does he praise f1 if they come to town is the question. He’s gonna get blasted if he does
I bet you this reporter does not even watch NASCAR. I will admit that I had some legitimate concerns about the street race at Chicago last year, including the concerns about a mass shooting happening at the track itself, or even a fatality. I am glad that I was proven wrong about it, and I look forward to the race this year. But do I think it should stay long term? Probably not. You could try different markets like the Wyobraska area, or maybe in Denver (pipe dream name would be the Furniture Row Grand Prix). And this is if they can’t get Chicagoland back.
Edit: I’ve seen that the ticket prices for general admission were starting at a rather high price of approximately $250. That is not exactly a good sign to bring in a general audience. In fact, that seems as though we are becoming no better than F1 with elitism. I certainly hope that this does not continue into next year, if we get a third race date in Grant Park.
that’s still about half the price of general admission to F1 Saturdays at COTA. plus, this is downtown Chicago on a street course. just a little bit more logistics and resource cost there…
Who peed in O’Donnell’s cereal? Damn, that is scathing.
O Donnell can just beat it! Chicago street racing in Nascar Rocks!
A Used Condom is more worthy than that so called Opinion of his
I always hate it when NASCAR is discounted as a sport. It’s just as much of a sport as NFL, NBA, or MLB. It’s also bad when you have to attack the competitors and fans of a sport in order to criticize it’s value to your area.
The problems with NASCAR (with the current management and previous management) is that they don’t treat their series as a sport and a competitive auto racing series. They treat it as not only some hillbilly WWE with all these horrid gimmicks and soft penalties. They treat NASCAR as ball sports on wheels by copying the NFL, NBA, hockey, and all those sports instead of an actual auto racing series.
It’s hard to take NASCAR seriously when they can’t take themselves seriously with all the continuous mess that’s still going on for 20 years with the Brian France sanctioning body.
As a Motorsports fanatic, it hurts to see that.
Now as for the street race, I don’t mind them street racing, but imma be real, the Chicago location isn’t the best one with all those criticisms.
It was a sport before denny and bubba cut the balls off.
@@christopherlozada6411 saying “hasn’t done the best decision” to NASCAR’s constant terrible decision is a huge understatement.
Plus this ain’t about any driver being “cash cow”. That was never the point. Plus there’s been cash cows even before 2003 ended.
@@IanTheMotorsportsMan_YT yeah as for the cash cow part. I mean the nascar company as whole… the france family wouldn’t never let it go…
If you think about it, the first Cup race at CotA was a deluge, with the following year being pretty good. Hopefully, the Chicago Street Race can follow the example.
That Jim guy probably didn’t have many friends as a child, so he’s resorted to getting attention from clickbait articles. I always hate whenever someone makes a strong assumption about something they’re not familiar with.
I hope fans don’t think thats how everyone in Chicago feels about nascar in here because their are fans here and i think alot of us would like to see more people in Chicago have an interest in the sport that I love too
It would have a better reception if they didn’t flood everything around here just to finish the race last year.
The Chicago race last year was the best thing I’ve seen in Motorsport in 40 years of watching. I’ve watched every single nascar cup race since, and all xfinity races this year too.
As a local to Chicago (20mins away) and Chicagoland speedway (20mins away) as well I wouldn’t mind it being the last year for the street race cause a lot of people want them back at Chicagoland speedway. There’s 3 tracks drag strip circle track and dirt track and because there’s no nascar race at the speedway it affects us local racers and fans cause there’s a track sitting there ready to come back that’s holding the other tracks back because of money.
I hope Jim O’Donnell will remember, a southern man don’t need him around anyhow.
I liked that segment at the end highlighting local cuisine so much I think it could be a recurring topic. Be it food, art, something else I think culture deserves to be highlighted for other racetracks in different markets that NASCAR gets around too.
Having someone talk about the area’s food reminds me of the “Buffet Benny” segments that Benny Parsons used to have on ESPN broadcast back when he would talk about some of the local delicacies.
Fun fact… I was rolling through Chicago and I saw the Legacy Motor Club #43 hauler
Awesome!
