I feel like they put Homestead out of the playoffs so that it can get a renovation so it can host the finale again
NASCAR deciding to put Talladega in the Round of 8 to create more playoff drama but also choosing to keep Phoenix as the finale is so cutting edge, I’m bleeding in an alleyway.
It’s a joke to have any plate races in the playoffs at all too much is out of the teams hands
@@SamuelWillenbrink To be fair, being that Talladega is in the round of 8; then in theory, all of the actual flukes will be knocked out of the Playoffs by then.

Putting Dega in the round of 8 is like bringing a gun to a sword match.
Me personally, I would never touch the idea of having a wildcard track in the RO8 with a 39 ½ foot pole. In my predictions, I thought they would be smart enough to NOT put Dega in the RO8. I predicted:

Pretty sure it’s so that Homestead has time to make renovations and improvements for WHEN they go back there
It’s actually the biggest Hell Yes because, from what I’ve heard, the facility is beautiful, and it’s better than Homestead
Homestead needs to renovate so that their great racing can be paired with a better facility
Not the biggest fan of Dega moving to the round of 8, but it could have some upsides as most of the mid to lower tier drivers in the standings will be out already. It’ll also encourage all the playoff guys to race up front.
Personally would’ve preferred Dega to stay in the Round of 12 or be the last race in the Round of 16 but maybe the NASCAR executives are secretly cooking with this. Guess we’ll have to wait and see
