That was a #3 car way to win the race of I’ve ever seen one lol
Have no doubt the 22 would have done the same thing.
Yeah for sure, Denny would’ve too except I don’t think he would’ve gone for the second one cause he’s not as desperate
Austin channeled his inner Dale, Sr. with those moves. How many times has Denny done something similar to others in the last few years?
Not a Dillon fan, but I felt legitimately bad for him when that caution came out. He ran a smart race up to that point and was really strong on the long run. I thought for a race with no wrecks it was pretty entertaining , I enjoyed the option tires. With that being said he was a complete wrecking ball at the end lol. That was so bad it was cartoonish, but I think all the drama and debate about it will be pretty fun.
Every other driver outside of the playoffs in that position would’ve gone for the exact same move.
got to put on a good show that’s it
Best decal I saw recently was a Chevy truck with a “3” logo with familiar cursive red text underneath that said “Not Dillon”! Nearly every driver respected Earnhardt. When he wrecked someone it was usually because he was taking a high-risk racing move at the edge of control and lost it. Dillon couldn’t be more different. None of the other drivers respect him. Nearly all of his “wins” have come from just blatantly running into the back of the leader. Earnhardt would be the first to cast shame on any driver who won a race this way. NASCAR will not be able to survive as a legitimate support if other drivers simply take the no-talent “Dillon” approach at the end of the race.
You say no talent but he was a top 5 car and was gonna win the race anyway before the one caution that happened
Hamlin and cry baby Joey have both driven through cars to win.
Even as a Hamlin fan, I can agree with this. Although I don’t think they have done it to the extent of what we saw
I blame Ricky Stenhouse for all this
Exactly. Him wrecking Ryan Preece for no reason is why everything went down
The official results were nearly identical to those shown on my ticker with a few exceptions. Brad Keselowski 16th over Todd Gilliland 17th as Chase Briscoe up to 21st over Ty Gibbs in 22nd
What Austin Dillon did was a disgrace to NASCAR and a blemish of our sport.
Rubbing and rough racing are OK but what happened tonight was inexcusable and should be a DQ for dangerous driving.
Just rattled there cage.
YES!!! #3 baby!
Fair
Was at the race live and am listening to this in the drive home. Absolutely insane end. Very fun moments too. You would’ve though Dillon shot somebody from the crowds reaction
LOGANITO did the same thing to the 24 @ darlington in 2022….. People seem to have bad memory….
EVEN AS A HAMLIN FAN, I’m happy to see Austin win, although I don’t like the way he won it, he definitely should have won, he had the car to win and he deserved to win. I just hate it that he won it that way, which I do think was unfair
Jaret, you gotta understand this:
Austin Dillon was the epitome of “There’s nothing more dangerous than a man with nothing left to lose”.
Also, Logano publicly badmouthing Dillon’s family and faith was a VERY BAD idea. That’s a line you just don’t cross. Cause where I come from, that’s grounds for a fight. It’s gonna end up being a huge black eye (no pun intended) for Logano in the long run.
If Ty Gibbs misses the playoffs, I don’t think too many people will be too upset by that
You said this never would have happened prior to 2014… I didn’t realize wrecking someone for the win was such a relatively new concept
Bristol Night 1999 anyone?
For someone whos life revolves around Nascar, your opinions blow my mind sometimes
If it were Kyle Larson and Chase Elliot getting spun like that it would have been a bloodbath, fans are so inconsistent
