Give us your hot take about the finish at Richmond ⬇
My pick christopher bell ended up 6th after dominating at Richmond raceway
when a guy whos 32nd in contention for the playoffs is wrecking 2 top 10 playoff drivers theres a serious issue
I don’t know why so many are upset. Think back what made the three car famous. I was at Bristol when Dale got Terry
If Dillon only dumped Logano then sure it wouldn’t be this talked about, but it’s him ALSO wrecking Hamlin that sets this apart from other incidents.
And Dale was booed loudly for wrecking him. You can hear it on all the highlight reels. Wasn’t right then, isn’t right now.
@@jimmywilliams1822although this was different, Dale was meant to be hated because it fits the Intimidator persona. But there’s half a field who loved Dale.
And people hated it, why you shocked.
Dale was maybe a car length back. Dillon was not even close.
Austin should’ve used him up on the restart and carried him up the track cause 8 tires are better than 4
22 jumped the start. If 3 had taken 22 up the track, it would have opened the Door for the 11.
I’m so tossed up on this cause. I like to watch clean racing. But every time the number three car wrecks someone I just feel like it’s Dale senior still Doing his thing!
My solution? Go back to points prior to 2014 at least for the regular season. A lot of fans like myself would be disappointed but it could help with solving this issue.
Walk a mile in a person’s shoes, that’s the expression, but change it to “Drive a lap in that driver’s seat” Nobody & I mean NOBODY does that differently than Austin did in that circumstance!.. The ‘System’ is broke not the drivers.. if the same scenario happened 10 or a 100 times the result will be the same with Any driver scrambling to make the “playoffs”
What Dillion did was still completely unprofessional, unsportsmanlike, and childish regardless if you recognize why he did it. You can blame NASCAR for their format too, but Dillion is the one who ultimately made the choice behind the wheel.
“if the same scenario happened 10 or a 100 times the result will be the same with Any driver scrambling to make the “playoffs””
I doubt that “any driver” would wreck two competitors win like that, even someone else as far back in points as Dillon.
So is wrecking one ok? Because that has happened many times.
How is it Noon Et on Wednesday and we still don’t have an announcement on penalties yet? Can’t even count on them to be consistent with time frames anymore smh
It looks like Denny came up as much as Austin came down.
SMT data shows that Austin was on the the throttle and had the wheels turned 33.9 degrees to the left to drive through the 11.
@@rgtug1 Doesn’t matter if Denny is drifting up with basically his wheels straight and Austin is trying to take the straight line to the finish line. Not saying that’s what happened but a case could be made. Of course nobody remembers Denny driving straight through David Reutiman when David drove got MWR. And then got out and said it was for his grandmother that had passed away.
Make a win worth more points but not a guaranteed spot in the playoffs! Problem Solved
Denny and Joey are the two hate most hated in NASCAR because they do the same thing every single time they get a chance. The only difference between those two is ones a champ and ones a chump
Exactly.. if that was Hamlin that did it they would be celebrating calling it a great victory for the 11.
Remind me the races Denny or Joey spun two people in the last corner to win?
You can’t. Because it’s never happened.
But 5 wins for Dillon. If you can call that a win. And 3 of dillons wins where from wrecking the leader. Notice a pattern.
The dudes 32
In points for a reason. It takes the whole race to be great. This is Robby Gordon messing everyone up. The difference is. Robby is talented
Austin is a better driver in NASCAR than Robby ever was.
We Want A Winston Style Points System!
It was a dirty win. I would never step outside of what’s right for a win Kevin. It wouldn’t be deserved.
As usual, Kevin’s explanation is the best overall summary of the events and circumstances I’ve heard. Excellent Kevin!!
Perfectly said. Nascar has created this fake drama, because they don’t think the fans can live without its ridiculous playoff system. Anyone who can’t live with some meaningless races, aren’t really fans. I’d bet if they went back to the old system, winner of the most points during the season wins the championship, theyd be more popular
Check out all the “Laguano”,Hamlet “ crash some body to win YouTube shots showing up. People talk retaliation, remember retaliation runs the risk of another future retaliation …at a most costly time! Go get um AD. Remember the Dale Sr. quote, “ didn’t mean to wreck um just wanted to rattle their cage”…
You can’t have rules for thee but not for me.. NASCAR BE CONSTANT.
I agree with Kevin, the issue really should be wrecking Hamlin. But to muddy the waters even more is what logano did on pit road after the race. Spinning the tires of a wrecked car with people in front of him is bad. But to burn out with dillons family directly in front of his car is a completely separate issue. Not sure how that wouldn’t be worthy of a penalty or suspension.
Moving someone out of the way and accidentally causing a crash has been apart of NASCAR from the start. Acting like you’re playing Crazy Taxi on the Dreamcast using the guy in front of you as a way to brake and instantly hooking a guy in the right rear is unhinged levels of stupidity.
