austin dillon from 32nd in points: _“be ready for your playoff world to be rocked”_
harrison burton from 34th in points: *_“hold my grape juice”_*
We passed to have a nuke to witness an asteroid in this ISPF standings
“hold my top 40 finishes”
We got a Harrison Burton win before GTA 6
happy for Burton and the wood brothers, but that might’ve been the most painful KFB loss I’ve ever seen as a fan
I feel the same way, except I’m not whole fan of KB.
@@CheetosTheRacerthat’s how you know it’s bad when people who aren’t even fans are like, damn that’s rough
I was recording the last two laps, almost tears in my eyes thinking I was about to capture his first win of the season… only for the end of the recording to be of the floor of the grandstands and me cursing the universe out. I wanted to be happy for Burton, but I was too deep in my mourning of KFB’s close win.
@@anacampanita21 man’s in mourning, you geddme.
The most insane race I’ve seen ever in my opinion. Daytona almost never fails to dissapoint. Also Leigh Diffey was fantastic in the booth!
I’ll have to rewatch the broadcast, but Diffey’s call at the end was great!
His call all night was great. Awesome move by NBC
@@EricEstepp I totally disagree, I could hardly understand that british dude, Please bring back Rick Allen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That”s a real announcers voice!!! Nascar is an American sport and have some foreigner call the shots is just wrong.
@@FishNFoolLures Two points here, one, Leigh’s not British, he’s Australian, and two, he’s much clearer voiced and stumbles over his words far less than Rick Allen. I like Rick but he’s just not as good
Man people can get upset about playoffs but this race was absolute cinema. Racing, playoff, commentary and crashes man
21 doesn’t belong in playoffs he is almost last in points
@@Staysick17he still won let the man be happy
You mean a race where they were just driving around double file for 150 laps (because nobody can make a change to the car or drive a line to get out ahead) then everyone makes YOLO moves because the manipulated championship structure does not reward someone who might be ok finishing 3rd or 4th or in the top 10? so they wreck just about every single race?
Fixed almost
@@hogzillerwe didnt watch the same race
You know, I don’t hate it. Harrison winning screws up the playoff grid, but the kid needed a break. Hopefully a win buys him enough cred to land a ride somewhere in the national series.
Winning a lottery plate race doesn’t give anyone cred.
idk man. he still has to earn the respect. he’s a cup winner and that’s a lot more than most can say but ahhhh i don’t think the boost in season finish is warranted.
Winning a race where 30 out of the 36 cars crashed, isn’t that impressive.
@@samharris3508holy crap everyone needs to realize you can’t change anything if Kyle had won everyone would’ve said it was deserved then everyone is all angry he won let the kid be happy
Get the facts strsight dont make claims you don’t just sore grapes
Amazing call by Diffey, and I’m glad Jeff Burton got to enjoy that moment, I feel he’s been very unbiased on honest in the booth. Many casual fans may not even know his son races.
You’re right, Jeff rarely ever commentates on Harrison on screen. Even after the win he said very little, so to see that big physical celebration as Harrison crossed the line was very cool.
Hes so good at being unbiased, I couldn’t remember if Harrison or Jeb was his son lol
Austin Dillon will be the biggest upset this season
Harrison Burton “Yep thats me. You’re probably wondering how I ended up in this situation”
Leigh Diffey made this a movie. Congrats to Harrison Burton on an insane win
‘BUT HERE COMES HARRISON BURTON!!’ will no doubt go down in history along with ‘THROUGH GOES HAMILTON!’ as the best racing commentary calls of all time
Leigh Diffey made that finish amazing and awesome
I was at the track in person and this race felt like a movie. Best race I have ever been to aside from the 2013 Auto Club 400.
Leigh Diffy> Rick Allen
And the self proclaimed “best driver in the world” only caused about 3 or 4 wrecks today. When will people learn the 5 is just a loose nut out there
Did not care for the accent and inflection . . . NASCAR, THE RICH AND FAMOUS. LOUD, OVERDRAMATIC, EVEN CHAOTIC. thank you, VIZIO, for the muting feature.
I think this is another case for why Playoff qualifications have to be adjusted. Guy who was in the 30s in points and is now a “championship contender”. Just feels like a spot wasted. Great race though, 3 wide almost the whole race is crazy
Yep
just scrap the whole playoff system while we’re at it
This is crap
Obviously, I think the spot belongs more to Buescher, Wallace, or Chastain.
This is the reason why if the points system was still using the pre-playoff format, Burton’s win would have little impact on the points for the top 15.
Harrison Burton to Wood Brothers after being fired recently tonight
“And I took that personally”
And congratulations Harrison Burton truly a well deserved win
Didn’t Ward Burton win the Daytona 500 one year only to loose his ride later in the season?
@@OldsmobileCutlass1969Valose
@OldsmobileCutlass1969Va Yeah, after he won, he got 1 more win, but he was horrible, and he was released at the end of 2003.
I don’t understand your comment
@@OldsmobileCutlass1969Va No. He won the 500 in the 22 car in 2002, and finished the season in the 22 for all 36 races for Bill Davis Racing.
Such a cool moment for the Wood Brothers and the Burton family. Congrats to the entire 21 team on win number 100.
First of, I got a little emotional because even I could sense how much this win meant to both Harrison and especially his father! Second, that commentary “But here come Harrison Burton!!” gave me chills down my spine
“But here comes Sebastian Vettel”, take two
Shades of Crofty.
3 races of the year! Harrison doesn’t deserve a spot in the playoffs, but that was so cool to see him win, and Jeff celebrating with him and the Wood Brothers’ getting their 100th win. Leigh Diffey had the call of the year. Shades of 1993 when Ned called his son home in the 500 and DW calling his brother home in 2001. Family means everything.
Almost like it was made for tv.
@@kensimpson8133 That is what Nascar wanted.
He does deserve it because he won and that’s the game now
“Ray Charles could block that” is INSANE
Kyle said the way the 21 was he would of turned him
How is that insane? ….
I can use a Tony Stewart term bout the 21 car. He was a dart with no feathers. How I seen that car handle
Ray Charles could have won the race, super speedway’s are getting so boring, they do not showcase the best racers.
Then don’t watch or comment you just have to chime in though@@chadbarth-hj4kb
Honestly would be the funniest thing ever if Burton could by some miracle sneak into the Round of 8 lmao
Possible first round has Atlanta and the round of 12 has Talledega lol
*wins championship*
Leigh Diffy was phenomenal in the booth. His call on the last lap will cement this finish in history 1000%
“BUT HERE COMES HARRISON BURTON!”
“But here comes Sebastian Vettel”, take two
Win-and-you’re-in is easily my least favorite part of the chase. I don’t think that anyone in the top 16 should lose their spot to anyone outside the top 16 because of a statistical anomaly.
You mean the playoffs. The chase was better than this crap
What if we went back to the top 10 in points make the post-season and remove the stage cautions and no win and your in? It means you have to be consent every week and can’t have bad stretches we have a lot of good drivers imagine the chaos of chase Elliot missing the post-season if not just go back to the full season points system
He missed it last year
Gotta commend Eric on the video for how well edited it is and how quickly he was able to get it out. Moments like isolating his audio when the golf cart drives past at 6:38, the splicing of interviews and race clips, and the graphics can take a while. Just shows why he’s become one of the best covering NASCAR on youtube.
facts, plus that he still does it all himself! most guys at his scale have hired a editor or 2. the fact he didn’t shows how above and beyond he goes
Everyone hating on Burton for being 34th in points but he played the same game with the same odds as everyone else. Nascar made the format, Burton’s just playing the game. Good for him and Wood Brothers.
I don’t think anyone is hating on Burton. It’s the system. It’s a joke. A dominant season should be rewarded with a championship, not potentially thwarted by an inferior team if say a guy blows a tire and spins in front of you.
Nobody said any of that.
Don’t think anyone’s really hating on Burton or Wood Brothers. We all dislike the ‘Win & You’re In’ system.
The fact that there’s a legitimate chance that a driver could finish 2nd EVERY race in the season and not make the playoffs because in 26 races we potentially had 16 different winners and a few of them might have been guys who have been on average finishing 25th, just got super lucky with a bunch of wrecks.
The ’30th or Higher in Points’ rule is a band-aid but if you want the best drivers, best teams competing for the title? The ‘Win & You’re In’ system needs to go.
Damn right
The problem is NOT that Harrison is in 34th and won and made the playoffs, it’s that there’s even a playoff system so that this can happen. Instead of Harrison getting all the attention for his win, we now have to discuss this stupid system that lets almost half the field get in. It’s a farce, but almost no one has the backbone to say so! Congrats to the Wood brothers on 100 wins.
