Awesome seeing Project 91 back! Hopefully we can see more than just F1 this year and have all sorts of motorsports coming around.

Daniel Ricciardo would be awesome, we know he loves Texas, and it’s an off-weekend for F1 so he’s probably available.

I mean… he doesn’t have a ride this year and is essentially an on call test driver.

ar go March 9, 2023 at 9:01 pm

@Henri D. aka RKDhe is also third driver, so he sort of has to be at F1 weekend and be able to jump into a car at all times in case some RB drivers gets injured or something

@ar go So the equivalent of being a backup or 3rd string Quarterback. Have to sit on the sidelines for 60 minutes ready to jump in at any second.

from what people that were at the race this week the racing was some of the best, the issue is it was further in the pack (10th on back) and TV never showed it. I think that is part of the problem is that TV doesn’t show the battles of the back markers they only show the lead and that is the issue they are starting to get with lower power, clean air is everything, but once you get in dirty air at the back you get some epic racing but TV will refuse to show that.
If Iracing has shown us the past few days, more power fixes everything.

It’s amazing seeing all the hype behind COTA. Haven’t seen so many excited for a NASCAR road course race.

It would be cool to see JPM back in nascar, or maybe Ambrose. As for grooved tires, I don’t remember the racing getting any better when F1 tried them a few years ago, just sort of an expensive sideways move really.

i cant wait to see him again behind a steering wheel, its going to be very emotional weekend for the kimi fans to see him again in COTA, wish him the best, i really hope he does more than 1 or 2 cup races this year, i want to see him doing a part time schedule in this series and doing interviews, now he talks and smiles a lot XD

Glad to see kimi in back for a one off. For the mystery Formula 1 driver Jenson Button would be a great pick he is one of the drivers for Garage 56 project. As for the Next Gen Car it still looks like it’s still a work in progress…Sorry Tyler.

So glad to have Kimi back. He is very good at COTA and I’m hoping he has better luck this go around. Or let’s be honest he got screwed by someone else’s crap. I’m extra stoked Jordan Taylor is running the #9 as well. He has wanted and deserved a shot for a long time. Im almost positive the “other” guy will be Jensen. With him running Le Man it makes total sense to have him some extra seat time.

How could you forget about Saurez at COTA. That was his race to win.

Ross totally deserves recognition for that legendary NASCAR moment. That wall MUST be placed in the HoF. No matter what happens to Chastain this point forward, he must always be remembered for that one Martinsville move. I will never forget your on camera reaction….total shock….it still has me in stitches. When I saw that happen, I shouted to my son to come up from the basement and we watched it repeatedly. It will never happen again, but that it happened that one time…..true NASCAR history.

I think 2022 was the best year for NASCAR as far as pulling in new fans/renewing interest from old fans is concerned & a large part of that is Ross’ wall-ride, one of my fav clips is of Petty watching Chastain’s move & recounting how what he did although way more aggressive isn’t all that different from how the entire grid would run up to and on the walls.

The racing has been fantastic on the intermediates. I wouldn’t change a thing about them. The only changes is that there needs to be new packages with the short tracks. The racing at Vegas was great just not a lot of carnage as people are used to.

The grooved tire idea would be interesting as it would have less grip than slicks but once warm and sticky I think they would be pretty equal
