As a Blaney fan I thought I was dreaming watching him pick up spots off pit road for most of the day

And Hassler actually made a good call

ZeldaRacer March 13, 2023 at 2:37 am

Yeah it was weird to see his team make the *right* choice at the end of the race.

He was sooo close

Being a Blaney fan can be stressful usually cause his pot crew and bad luck cause him.

On one hand I’m happy we got that last caution because of the fun finish, but I feel for Harvick, he had the thing won…

I couldn’t stop crying for 2 hours. And I’m a 19 year old man.

Now we do know if we didn’t have the stupid stage stuff in nascar both larson and Byron would be well over a lap on almost every one and about half a lap on 3rd

Reply
Michael Beale March 13, 2023 at 10:34 am

NASCAR was really quick on the trigger for the Harrison Burton spin.. They wanted a caution bad.

ShinyMew76 March 13, 2023 at 10:51 am

@james carpenter Stage racing basically ruins the point of having a fast long run car, which is one reason it’s unfortunate it’s even a thing to be split in stages.

How about Josh Berry with a Top 10! What a awesome bounce back from last week for him.

Reply
BigRooster March 13, 2023 at 2:42 am

Chase Elliott was talking to him all race long.

Reply
Gavin McGuffey March 13, 2023 at 3:04 am

@BigRooster no he wasn’t he was just talking to the team

And he restarted 16th on the final GWC ! And finished 10th ! Awesome !

Reply
Kevin Littrell March 13, 2023 at 4:46 am

Considering this is only
his 2nd start in a Next Gen car and his 4th overall Cup start, that’s pretty damn impressive.

Samuel Stewart March 13, 2023 at 2:04 am

I believe I saw bowman now the only driver with all top 10’s. Blake Harris must be treating that team well over at the 48

Points leader baby!

Reply
Jayanna Kelley March 13, 2023 at 9:32 am

Bowman’s been needing a different crew chief for years!

Reply
Alex Otero March 16, 2023 at 1:47 pm

Yeah, the 48 has had a great start to the season. I hope they can keep it up

Kind of crazy that Jeff Gordon won back to back races twice in 2007, both involving talladega. And he also accomplished that feat 8 times from 2001-2007.

Reply
Easy E Network March 13, 2023 at 3:14 am

If not for Jimmie, he likely wins that title.

Reply
C Chap March 14, 2023 at 1:52 am

@Easy E Network he had a 400 pt advantage on the rest of the field before the chase started. That would have been 1 of his missing 3 championships if it weren’t for the chase. Heartbreaking as a Gordon fan.

It’s interesting that we got a repeat winner this early in the season. I think the parity is waning and the cream is rising to the top again.

Reply
Tayd0g March 13, 2023 at 7:22 am

I don’t think so, Byron stole this win despite not being the fastest car. I think theres parody left to see yet this year

Reply
japanesetoenglish March 13, 2023 at 12:26 pm

I still think there is a good level of parity between the top 25 cars. But Hendrick do seem to be ahead of the game in terms of setup.

Reply
King Sally March 14, 2023 at 3:54 pm

i think it’s just variance

Reply
chris barnett March 13, 2023 at 2:57 am

Harrison Burton is a prime example of what a driver with money vs driver with real talent looks like.

Reply
Easy E Network March 13, 2023 at 3:26 am

I mean Matty D could have been better, but Harrison is not showing me much.

He was rushed to cup showed tons of potential in xfinity

Reply
Jordyn Propst March 13, 2023 at 4:34 am

@RTRacing33 he won 0 Xfinity races the year before he moved to cup.

Reply
Deadman500 March 13, 2023 at 3:08 am

With Byron’s 6th victory, that puts the #24 at 99 wins all-time cup.

Reply
Mac 1666 March 13, 2023 at 3:34 am

Yup. Jimmie has more championships than Jeff Gordon but Gordon had 95ish wins. Jimmie nowhere close. Love seeing the 24 up front.

Reply
RACINGUS95 March 13, 2023 at 3:49 am

@Mac 1666 Jeff has 93 wins.

Reply
Vercingetorix4 March 13, 2023 at 4:55 am

@Mac 1666 Jimmie has 83 wins, which I guess is “nowhere close” but still kinda close to me.

Reply
Dexter Fason March 14, 2023 at 2:48 pm

@Vercingetorix4 If that Pocono crash Jimmie had didn’t happened he very well could have 10 more wins seeing that he had 2 wins before that race

NASCARFAN93100 March 13, 2023 at 3:32 am

Fun Fact: William Byron has won 6 races at 6 different tracks with 6 different paint schemes not to mention that his first win at Phoenix is his first ever Top 5 finish in the desert

Reply
Zombified March 13, 2023 at 3:46 am

On a positive note Harvick ended the day with a 20th consecutive Top 10 at Phoenix! Unreal!!

Reply
Shay_Mendez March 13, 2023 at 3:57 am

Always will root for the 24, so seeing Byron doing this well makes me happy!

As someone who was at the race, i think the most exciting part was watching harvick slowly chip at larsons lead and pass him

Reply
Asare Isaac March 13, 2023 at 12:50 pm

During that run, Harvick was as far back as 3.5 seconds behind Larson. But by the time the pitstops came around, he was 1.22 seconds behind. Pitted and almost came out ahead of Larson. It was so exciting to watch

Reply
Rad Roy42 March 13, 2023 at 5:28 am

As a Hendrick fan I see this as an absolute win. Still feel for Harvick tho

Reply
Jared Morgan March 13, 2023 at 9:33 am

As an HMS fan, it’s kind of fun watching other teams making strides to beat HMS drivers. Knowing how solid HMS is and still see a team put forth a challenge really makes for a good watch. Even when I compete, I don’t hate losing to a better competitor. I only hate not making progress to make it more of a challenge.

BY The way, I Still wanna know where I can get that shirt

Reply
japanesetoenglish March 13, 2023 at 12:24 pm

I am not a Harvick fan, but he deserved the win today. He searched for the grip, and he worked the traffic well.

Josh Berry with a top 10 was an awesome story. That man has got some skills.
