NOTE: Gateway grandstand capacity is estimated to be 57,000 based on the latest I can find.

That’s not many seats really I remember going to the Brickyard in 95 over 200,000 people also Charlotte in the 90’s with over 150,000 people they have removed over 40,000 from Charlotte

I would LOVE to see Corey lajoie in the playoffs… PLEASE PLEASE TELL ME there’s no goofball winners (outside of him) knocking him out the playoffs.

He’s in my top 3 favorite drivers in the cup series right now

Excited to be at Gateway! It was a show on TV last year and hopefully it’ll be the same on Sunday!

Yeah I’m not surprised Bowman is taking a break from Sprint Cars. Hopefully to see him back soon in a Sprint Car.

@Lc cj Yupp. Chase hasn’t had very good speed lately. 10th car at best for a month now.

Breidinger was surprisingly decent in her first truck start. Stayed out of trouble and got faster as the race went on. It’ll be interesting to see if she can repeat that

I reckon she’s better than Deegan.

As long as the only 2 women are in the trucks, and especially toni in deegans old stuff, there will always be a debate. They were teammates in K&N at one point. Will be interesting

I’m surprised you didn’t talk about Joey logano. He’s currently 14th in points, which is down right BAD, and when Penske gives him bad cars, he actually makes the most of it and gets a top 10 or top 5. But then if he is given a good car, he just gets involved in someones mess and wrecks out, especially when he had a car that could win. A defending champion doesnt run top 15 every week.

Bowman is a smart kid. He knows the priorities. And where the big money comes from. Yes he’ll do dirt again but I’ll bet it ain’t till at least least next year. He’ll give himself time to heal and the heat to calm down. He knows what he’s doing.

Bowman being in the playoffs rn just goes to show you how consistent he was before the injury. Missed several races and after 1 race back he’s back in playoffs off points.

Bowman did a lot for dirt racing! He was a car owner and put hot shoes in his sprint cars and midgets

Imagine if Corey Lajoie wins this weekend. We know he is talented. He will be in one of the best cars in the garage. It’s possible. And imagine the implications

Blaney is the best driver out of Penske… he’s for damn sure the best driver out of the ford camp as a whole. And I’m here for it. I’m an HMS guy through and through, but Blaney is impossible not to like! Love seeing him run well, and getting that win this past weekend had to be a massive load of his shoulders!

Reply
John Haas June 2, 2023 at 9:41 pm

I would say Joey is the best Penske driver

Reply
J Bonn June 2, 2023 at 9:44 pm

@John Haas I’m not saying overall. I’m saying this season specifically.

Greg Vandy June 3, 2023 at 7:27 am

I sure hope Blaney can start winning often and be the top driver at Penske. Logano has been the best, by a longshot, but lately Blaney has been great. Ryan also is well liked and respected. Look back at Dover. Blaney could have taken out Truex but didn’t. Had it been Logano in that situation, Truex likely gets wrecked on the last lap. Blaney races in a way that has earned him the respect of other drivers while Logano is generally disliked by all. Up til a few weeks ago, Logano was really the only Ford looking like a contender but things are looking up, unless you’re Logano and I thoroughly enjoy seeing that 22 run poorly

Eric I’m still thinking about your idea for the All-star race to be at Charlotte. Excellent idea. Hope it happens.

Reply
Jesus Talamantes June 2, 2023 at 11:49 pm

The all star race was at charlotte for a long time until recent when the moved it to Texas then north wilkesboro.

As someone who has disability due to a spinal injury, I absolutely believe this is a good call on Alex’s part
