I really miss seeing Kurt Busch on the track already.

Honestly I really want to see Kurt leave 23XI and go to Trackhouse and go race along side his buddy Ross Chastain on a part-time basis. Ross and Kurt seemed to atleast have mutual respect unlike Bubba this year that I don’t think realized how much of an asset Kurt was to have as a teammate.

@Tyler and friends gaming bubba and kurt were great teammates imo. it’s obvious bubba learned a lot from him last season

@Innerprize Bubba had an ego last season like legit seemed to think he was better than Kurt. Every interview I’ve seen with Ross about Kurt is Ross thanking Kurt for being a great teammate.

That still hurts to hear that Kurt Busch isn’t clear to come back
Honestly I would just retire then
That’s how bad the Next Gen car is in safety

You’re so f****** uneducated cuz you haven’t f****** paid attention to the fact that the car has been fixed with the safety issues from last year and nascar will keep trying to find ways to make them even safer

That is sad for Kurt. Hope he does come back at some point.

Half a year later, and the NextGen still proving to be unsafe. With Newman’s wreck in 2020; he was only in hospital for two days. Meanwhile Kurt Busch after a slightly-hard hit, ended his career and he might not return. I really do feel bad for Kurt. Hope he will fully recover eventually to return.

Same here. I’m really hoping the changes they made to the car pay off, but I’m not holding my breath. I had similar things to say before I scrolled down and saw your comment.

I am not even a Kurt Busch fan, but I am feeling for him. I want to see him drive again just for his own sake. Brutal to see how this is playing out.

Nice combination with Todd Gordon and Jimmie Johnson! Can’t wait to see how he does at Daytona next month!

As for the RWR and Riley Herbst combo, that literally sounds like an accident waiting to happen.

As a Diehard Penske Fan, its awesome to see Todd Gordon back, especially with Jimmie Johnson. I really hope Kurt busch gets well.

I’m so happy for Jones to have a great team to work with. I think Jones will have a break out year, love having Jimmie Jamm back to help coach Jones and Grayson. Think this team is the new team to watch out for this season.

It’s good NASCAR has made changes to the Next-Gen in light of everything that happened last season, but I’m still skeptical. Computer simulations can only go so far and without doing a lot of real-life crash testing and data gathering (which is unfortunately cost prohibitive) I’m fearful of this season being a question of who not if someone gets hurt next. Hopefully Kurt will make a full recovery eventually.

They did a real-time test before October’s Charlotte Race to verify the changes to car with rear impacts

@John Haas I did happen to see that. Hopefully the results were conclusive enough to deem it safer, but I guess my skepticism comes from just not having enough data on the car in general (one season run vs. 9 or however many with the Gen 6). I guess you could look at it as a problem with any new car design though that only time can really solve.

Kurt is from my city Las Vegas, watched him race when he was younger. I hope the best for him. Hope he can over come this. Lucky 7s to you Kurt

With all the hits and crashes Kurt was in last year, it’s possible the Pocono crash wasn’t the concussion itself, but maybe what finally started the symptoms to become apparent, or could have been the final straw to cause a concussion after the buildup of hard hit after hard hit throughout the season. Was never really a Kurt fan, but it definitely sucks to see him go out like that.

It was Talladega, definitely Talladega in the final laps both 23XI cars crashed out and Kurt Busch got the big impact

I forgot what other races Kurt Busch crashed in…

@American Walmarts Darlington, Talladega, Pocono, and I want to say Atlanta as well.

Thank you, NASCAR, for being so stupid that one of your legends may never race again because of a slight hit. Man, I’ll miss Kurt.

It took Dale Jr. a long time to recover back in 2016. He left the 88 around the same time frame in July ’16 that Kurt had his problem in 2022, but was not well for like a month and half prior

I cannot believe Kurt still is not cleared to race. That’s heartbreaking that his life was changed from what on the outside looking like it was a minor impact. I pray that Nascar’s “improvements” to the new car actually makes a huge difference in safety. I don’t want to see anymore generational talents career ended before they decide to retire. Thank you Eric as always for keeping Nascar fans up to date on the latest news.

I really hope Kurt can race at least 1 more time, that’s no way to end his career. Legacy MC is going to be legit, they’ve made a lot of changes that are going to make a huge difference

I’m so exited to see what LEGACY motor club can do this season. Seems like they’ve got about everything they need to contend for victories now!

I feel so bad for Kurt Busch, never been a Busch Brothers fan at all, but it must suck not being able to do what you love. On another note, being a life long Jimmie Johnson fan I’m super excited to see him being paired up with such a good crew chief, it’s going to be a great season!

I honestly think that Elenz(SP?) and Jones will be able to bring the 43 back. Maybe not to its peak back in it’s heyday, but I think those 2 have the potential to return the 43 to its consistent up front ways. A couple wins, but a top 5/10 car consistently. I think that pair can be a franchise type pairing for Legacy M.C. I also think that Gragson will have a tough first year(not BAD, just not consistent), but given the chance, his 2nd year will be much better in that 42(It’s still a newish 2nd team there).

I think people are leaning too much on how good Jimmie USED to be. Remember, he rode around, not super competitively, the last 3 years, then went off to do Indycar racing. I hope that the media doesn’t make too big of a deal about it. I mean, I would like to watch the Daytona 500, not a Jimmie 500(like it was back in Danica’s first 500).

I hope Kurt gets to race again. It still amazes me that a minor wreck can end someone’s career. It’s obvious that the Next Gen car is to blame cuz unlike previous generations, it didn’t crumple. Kurt might’ve come out of the incident not concussed if the car could’ve taken the impact instead of Kurt. All we can do now is hope that Kurt will come back but right now it’s uncertain.
