Glad to see nascar hasn’t solved the problem. Wow

@Braaandon they haven’t added the mulffers yet most likely the problem from last year rubber

Reply
Braaandon February 5, 2023 at 12:53 am

@Mchattenbros mufflers have been added, they were done for the clash, phoenix, and i think martinsville. They even said in the broadcast its the muffler

Reply
BA#97 Racing February 5, 2023 at 12:57 am

@Braaandon clash and Chicago are the only races the mufflers are for.

Steve Guzman February 5, 2023 at 1:54 am

@Braaandon clash and Chicago since there in a city

I don’t how NASCAR didn’t fix that problem over off season

BonnieBoi 9743 February 5, 2023 at 2:23 pm

@Lil Twizz And the ones last year happened primarily to Fords. This happened to a Toyota now

Reply
Lil Twizz February 5, 2023 at 2:28 pm

@BonnieBoi 9743 Exactly. Where did they go wrong with the car bruh?

Reply
BonnieBoi 9743 February 5, 2023 at 2:40 pm

@Lil Twizz You remember Harvicks car fire at Darlington? Cole Custers at Michigan? And heck even though this is a Chevy, it happened to Bowman too

Reply
BonnieBoi 9743 February 5, 2023 at 2:41 pm

@Lil Twizz And lets not forget the rear impacts, like at Pocono…that ended Kurt Buschs career

Reply
Josh Jackson February 5, 2023 at 3:45 pm

@BonnieBoi 9743 definitely nascars fault there should not be any holes in the fire wall especially near the exhaust

Boinuts February 5, 2023 at 12:49 am

What a way to start your rookie season

Reply
Logan Ward February 5, 2023 at 1:00 am

didn’t they say that they had taken care of that problem already? after Kevin Harvick had that exact same problem happen to him at the Darlington night race last year

Reply
AloeLover February 5, 2023 at 1:29 am

@Logan Ward Maybe if you had watched the video, they’re using a new muffler fool.

Reply
Logan Ward February 5, 2023 at 1:50 am

@AloeLover your just probably implying that i didn’t watch the video and i did so what is your god dang problem about it eh? and besides you don’t have to post a comment every time that i watch any NASCAR videos on YouTube and besides don’t you think it is getting a little bit repetitive just saying

I’m pretty sure that would have been a brand new car so how many laps did it take for enough rubber to build up to start a fire couldn’t have been that many it’s just a thought

Reply
John Larusta4528 February 5, 2023 at 2:47 pm

Fact all three in the booth had no opinion in the next segment is rather scary, probably a Fox memo came in during commercial.

Reply
Logan Ward February 5, 2023 at 12:57 am

well that is probably the first time we have seen a stock car catch/caught on fire at the new clash track

Reply

Makes you miss the COT.

Reply
AloeLover February 5, 2023 at 2:08 am

@TanDawg58″This is a bad look” This was never a bad look for them for years, no matter what car they have. But you “fans” suddenly show up and start to make it a big deal for no damn reason. Also, imagine liking your own comment…

Reply
TanDawg58 February 5, 2023 at 2:16 am

@AloeLover
Firstly, I don’t like my own comments. Secondly, a brand new racecar that is supposed to be an improvement over all previous cars can’t be having these issues like this. Kevin Harvick raised concerns last year, and it’s obviously still not fixed. This car puts on a great race, but it still has issues needing to be worked out sooner than later. And lastly, you seemingly referring to me as a random pop-up fan is BS. I have a feeling that I have been watching NASCAR a lot longer than you have.

What about the Gen-6 cars?

Reply
TanDawg58 February 5, 2023 at 6:41 am

@William Seaman
Gen 6 left a sour taste only because NASCAR kept messing with its packages.

I guess you’ll have the last laugh when the put mufflers on a top fuel dragster and expect them to push 11,000 hp

Reply
joshawott31 February 5, 2023 at 3:02 pm

@Tim Van Voorhis crazy thing about that is the technology they have access to is probably better than you working in your mom’s shed. So I have no worries I’m gonna be laughing at this already anyways with how dumb you’ve been sounding

@MattMan420 Definitely was a setback as he couldn’t qualify, so he’s fucked lmao.

NASCAR creates problems, they don’t solve problems. NASCAR won’t let the team engineers do their job.

I dont know which is scariest the fact that these fires keep happening or how fast those flames make it onto the cockpit.

Reply
Boinuts February 5, 2023 at 12:04 pm

Both probably

Reply
NascarRacingFan5 February 5, 2023 at 2:23 am

Thanks nascar for ignoring this serious safety issue in the off-season

Reply
Chris Cheney February 5, 2023 at 2:30 am

Well you know NASCAR in their infinite wisdom had to deal with the more important Hail Melon (Chastain wall move) safety issue that injured no one than something as minor as a fire in the cockpit

Reply
Peter L February 5, 2023 at 2:34 am

Just like cars in the real world, they keep making changes trying to fix stuff that isn’t broken. Imagine the driver in there, hardly able to move trying to unbuckle and get out with that aggressive of a fire right behind you? Scary stuff. Now imagine someone unconscious or unable to get themselves out.

only cuz of the mufflers this one race

Reply
jjmckay6man1 February 5, 2023 at 6:08 am

@Mailbox Media and what about last year when they didn’t have mufflers? lol

Reply
Mailbox Media February 5, 2023 at 7:25 am

@jjmckay6man1 I’m saying they fixed the fires, only reason there was a fire here is cuz of the muffler, which is only for 2 races

Reply
jjmckay6man1 February 5, 2023 at 9:14 am

@Mailbox Media yeah sure we will see more catch fire during non muffler races watch.

lol underrated comment

Reply
fonnyjootball February 5, 2023 at 3:42 am

pretty sure the drivers would rather the car remain loud, which they are used to, as opposed to catching on fire after like 40 miles…

Reply
Josh Henderson February 5, 2023 at 4:42 am

I’ve defended NASCAR all last year and doing it as a Kurt Busch fan of over 18 years was hard to do. Seeing the same mistakes from last year not being fixed just pisses me off or deeply saddens me. Can’t tell which…

Reply
John Larusta4528 February 5, 2023 at 2:40 pm

So? Why did you defend them when major issues were present , I didn’t, Kurt fan since the 04’ championship.

Reply
James Barker February 5, 2023 at 5:53 am

Way to go NASCAR!! Way to make these cars safer in the off season!! I’m sure the drivers have a lot more confidence in the cars safety after this!!

Reply
Pankypops February 5, 2023 at 5:16 pm

Considering just one car caught on fire, this is less on NASCAR and more on JGR’s engineering.
