Go McDowell, what a win!
if the 99 pit crew didn’t screw up, it would have been much closer between the two.And you can look at McDowells only win because of someone else’s crash
You would think I would be happy with my guy finally getting a Top 5 for the first time since late March. Well if it wasn’t for Atlanta-2, Pocono or Michigan, then maybe this might’ve meant something towards the playoffs. Now he’s got to find a way to win at the Glen or Daytona these next 2 weeks. Congrats to McDowell
Fellow bowman fan…not looking good for us
@Dillon HollieAt least today was a step in the right direction. Just don’t have much time left
@Aaron Winterfielddoesn’t deserve the 48
Mfw, he needs to leave, replace him with talent.
He’s just an overrated JJ replacement
@mimimiYou do realize that Bowman had the points lead earlier in the year and started the season with 6 top 10’s in the first 7 races. Just a combination of bad luck and slow cars being brought to the race track has put him in must-win territory. But the past 2 weeks the speed has been there
@Aaron Winterfield stop coping
Larson, Elliott and Byron are still better
Fun fact: This was the first one-caution race since Auto Club of 2012.
Because of stages*. That’s why Mark Martins speed record is likely to never be broken unless they do away with yellow flags at the stages.
Edit: Stages**
@Alan Wiltsie Not for this race, this had (almost) every right beat for it to be a great non-cautionfest race.
A video where there’s No Hatful comments regarding the Winner! Because McDowell is a Humble Deserving Driver! Proud of him!
Hateful as in people’s opinions? Bro is blind
@mimimi First off, he said hateful comments, not opinions. I don’t see how you could connect that. Of course, unless you call insulting Michael McDowell and saying he’ll “never get another win” an opinion and get defensive because you got actual backlash.
@Above Average Ford Fiesta Not even defensive but okay
Good job for McDowell I met a guy named Brady who is a hardcore Chase Elliott fan and he of course didn’t take Elliott finish second well when I was there in person
McDowell earned this 100%. He’s displaying his skill in that #34 exceptionally well.
Well no he would have earned it if he beat 99 on the track .. 99 pit crew cost him and us a good race .. would have been great to see who was actually better
@Rob La Pouplehe passed the 99 on track before the second round of pit stops
@Handsomedevil4 yea but because of the 2 cars in the way on very old tyres Hamlin and Brad … He didn’t lose time .. they would have continued to battle and we missed out on seeing who was better
@Rob La PoupleMcDowell had the faster car, people forget this but he is one of those experienced road coarse drivers that no one really thinks about
@Rob La Pouple McDowell handled the slow traffic better than Suarez did. Suarez only got in front of McDowell to begin with because he had a slow stop
Couldn’t happened to a better guy he is awesome
Has the new car helped with lower funded teams to get better finishes at all tracks? Seems like it to me and I think it’s good for the sport.
The spec parts and the fact that all engine suppliers (Hendrick, ECR, Yates, TRD) are more or less equally competitive seem to have a lot to do with it. The gap between a Front Row Ford and a Penske Ford has certainly narrowed.
Yes
Fantastic racing
Congratulations to Michael McDowell! He deserves another shot at the championship! He did really well.
Shot at the championship? That’s funny. He’s been a Cup driver for 16 years and this is only his second win EVER.
@Luanne Nickerson I mean, he’s never been in top tier equipment to really get a shot at consistent wins. But he’s a perfect driver for a mid tier car like this because he keeps it clean and races very respectfully.
Great race today without too much caution disruptions
Man the Road Course races are awesome! Great race!
It sure was a great race. It kept Chase reaching. But not enough. Michael did a great job at outperforming everyone at the right time.
SVG top ten at a track he has never raced at,looked decent in his truck/oval debut and yet to wad up a car. Can’t wait to see where he ends up.
Marcos Ambrose
but better.
@The Well Rounded Warriorand will have much better equipment
Something about this race track that just breeds these neck and neck thrilling races to the finish, saw the same with Xfinity, and Indy
What a race. way to go guys.
Awesome racing fella’s. SVG top 10, great effort and nice to see you keep it clean after first corner incident. Keep rippin mate
super happy for michael! i really needed daniel to win this one but what a performance from mcdowell i can’t even be upset!!
Great race! I love road courses. McDowell with a very impressive performance.
