Ryan Preece was taken to the hospital for evaluation after his car flipped nearly a dozen times during a crash in Saturday’s Cup race.

Roll cage technology car didn’t crunch around driver and HANS device kept his neck from moving

The facia and smooth bottom is like a wing once airborne, at a certain angle.This wreck was similar to those before HANS was mandatory. The window net was compromised…. Ryan Newman’s crash was different, same said for Austin Dillon’s a few years ago, actually hitting the catch fence.
Austins was probably the worst I’ve ever seen
No one remembers Waltrips flip in the grass in 2004 which was completely identical and was worse than this.

I swear it’s the Ryan effect. Newman has had some awful wrecks, even blaney has had some hard hits kinda like earlier in this race, and preece has had some violent wrecks
Why is no one bringing up Waltrips scary flip at Daytona in 2004 that was completely identical.

I was there tonight and have been to numerous races here, never have I heard the crowd so silent after a wreck. Unreal wreck.

Go watch Geoff Bodines truck race wreck at daytona. I bet he rolled his truck twice as many times as this one did. That one had the most rollovers I’ve ever seen.

I’ve never been to a race, but I watch them all. Praise God for being at Daytona. Ryan’s crash was and is a miracle. It was for sure a scary one. Praise GOD he’s alive. ❤

These cars are amazing. That car mostly stayed intact and protected the driver like I’ve never seen before. Great job to developers who designed these cars to be incredibly safe.
