Each Time I see that flip, I just can’t believe how fast that thing flipped and how violent it was

@PigeonGamerty had some bad crashes in xfinity and trucks this year

@Troy Groomesyup but the problem is that those cars have much more safety than the next gen

Convenient of them to leave out the comments about the next gen failing to do its job from Preece’s spotter and crew chief

I appreciate brads new mentality of “get our team a win” over “ I’ll try and race my guy for the win and maybe one of us will get it”.

Brad pushing and happily taking P2 is such a moment showing his maturity. He’s struggled on his ownership adventure but really seems to be coming into his own again. Would love to see Brad win one again!

shades of Sr. in 01′. one of the best owner-driver moments in the sports history for sure!

That was before his teammate Chris Buescher won this race.

He hasn’t struggled at all as an owner, the team has gotten better every year since he joined…

Ryan Preece’s crash is so far the worst crash we’ve seen with the Gen 7 car. That car was flipping in the air so fast.

and the worst crash on the backstretch ever. Michael Waltrip was trapped upside down on backstretch in 02 but not Ryan Preece took just along time to get out of his car.

MESC August 30, 2023 at 12:58 am

That was the worst barrel roll since the 80s and 90s

DaytonaPrototypes August 30, 2023 at 4:03 am

@Run Rafa Run #THEBESTINTHEWORLD That was 2004. The safety crew were trying to cut bars to get him out and he told them to just flip the car back over.

@DaytonaPrototypes yeah I remember because once they flipped the car back over he got out from the roof hatch he had on the car.

That 12 crash was the closest to Dale’s I’ve seen. And the impact was massive. Shows just how much force Dale hit with, and how far safety has come.

This race was kinda incredible. We saw two almost perfect recreations of two of the three most iconic wrecks at this speedway. Rusty Wallace’s crash in 1993 and Dale Earnhardts crash in 2001. The third would be Austin Dillons from 2016. That one was wild.

Reply
Ben Walter August 30, 2023 at 1:48 pm

The Austin Dillon wreck was in 2015 not 2016.
