@Chad Phillips from what i’ve seen on their instagram they’ve just been busy with starting businesses and i also think they wanted to sell their detailing business? also i remember a while ago clayton got into “politics” sort of for the window tint laws etc? i can only assumes this takes time and energy
@stradman it’s called rev hang. A lot of newer cars are forced to do it for emissions so they burn the excess fuel when you let off and meet epa standards. It’s very common among manual japanese cars. It can sometimes be removed by a tuner
The rev issue is most likely due to the weight of the flywheel. Manufacturers usually put heavier flywheels in manual cars so that you are less likely to stall the car. Because the flywheel weighs more it has more inertia and takes longer to slow down.
Rev hang might be related to emission but is also programmed to make shifting easier for daily slow acceleration. If the revs drop too fast on slow shifting, you might need to “rev match” on up shifts.
Not everyone is banging gears like a rockstar in stop and go traffic
I was sure last year would end terrible for me but I think Amazons *APL44X* is spot on with what they do and how they do it. Cant say for how long its going to work and for sure it is overyhped right now but even if just half a year or something it would

The issue you’re talking about with the Z is called rev hang and can be fixed by a good tuner
This^
What causes it though, is it artificially held by the ECU?
I’d have guessed heavy flywheel, given its so slow to rev upwards too. But I don’t know anything about the z!
Good to see Clayton back on the channel. Hope they’re doing well.
I was wondering why we havent seen them for awhile.
Was going to say the same thing. Wonder why they Havnt been awhile. Maybe they had an argument? Clayton didn’t seem all goofy and talkative
Their business is in Park City and Strad lives spnear Salt Lake City so it’s kinda far away I think?

Ford Rangers have the worst rev hang I’ve ever seen.
So it as nothing to do with the flywheel? Because that was my first thought but I don’t really know anything about the car to make a comment on it lol
@Ashael Febo I put a lighter flywheel in my Honda Civic and in helped, but the tune that removed the rev hang made a much bigger difference.
Low compression
@Crispy15+ WRX has a gnarly rev hang. Kinda sucks had to flash the tune and voids warranty to fix it it was so bad
Congrats man, hope you enjoy all your cars
Everyday I come back from school I always look forward to watching one of Jame’s videos. Keep up the good work James.
As a former q50 3.0 redsport owner be careful with tunes, you have to use very good gas cause they like to blow up and the turbos like to go

Nope, nothing to do with the flywheel. It’s an emissions setting with the electronic throttle body.

@enzoevola1410 Yes most likely, could also just be the way the car is tuned for less engine braking as a way to increase gas mileage.
I was thinkking maybe the headers were too narrow and created a lot of back pressure
It’s probably a mix of tuning and flywheel.
Great vid Mr Strad love the content❤️
You can upgrade the stock heavy Flywheelto an lightweights aftermarket one for quicker rev’s
