Nascar needs to worry about the car and why it caught fire.

Xfinity cars need an update! Keep the same body style but wider bodies and better brakes like the next gen cup cars!

Why? These changes have been very controversial in cup, and cup drivers say they like the Xfinity cars better for racing.

@Herobrine Hoax honestly I like the look of the cup car! The xfinity car is good I just want to see some improvements!

the brakes being better is a major factor in what hurts the gen7 cars

The wider body on the Cup cars does look better, I’ll give you that. But I think the broad consensus with the Gen 7 Cup cars is that they’re a little bit too good, especially in the brake department. That, and they’re also stupid aero sensitive. Because the brakes work so much better, it’s harder to overcook them in the corners, leading to fewer mistakes and fewer passing opportunities.

The jist of it is firesuits burn..suits are flame retardent NOT fire proof..they will still burn and actually had a rapid rate once its exposed to a sustained ignition source for longer than a couple seconds. Its time that strides are made to at least extend the length of prolonged exposure to fire before the material of the suit actually starts to burn and it cant be some exuberant cost to purchase one so the weekend racer can wear one as well.

I think the most impressive part is, while actively on fire, he had the presence of mind to pull down pit road so as not to hurt anyone else’s race.

Everytime we have one of these incidents, I fear we’re running on borrowed time. Why don’t we see the crews running out with an extinguisher? It seems like the TV viewers have a better idea of what’s happening than the pit crews. They don’t watch the feed? If my driver is coming in with a fire, I’d like one guy to have an extinguisher ready. It feels like as a viewer I have a better grasp of the emergency than the crews at trackside. That’s not safe. Crews need to know what is happening when they run up on a car. Some day those seconds will matter.
