Nascar and the new teams are getting really strange in the opinion of this old Nascar fan. 40 million for a charter and drivers getting hired by one team yet actually driving for another team … that’s just out of the realm of positive thinking for the future of Nascar. It’s all going to hell in a hand basket.

How lol. Teams are expanding, do I wish it was without the charter system sure. But as far as 1 team leasing a driver to another its hardly unheard of in motorsports. Trackhouse because of the charter system can’t field a 3rd car. So a lower level team like Spire running him and getting him the expeirence is genius

It’s certainly a dichotomy like we’ve never seen this sport have but hey, if Trackhouse is a helpful source for Spire, I don’t see a problem with this going down the way it’s projected to next season.
To me, its the same equivalent as how Corey Lajoie ran for Hendrick this year with Chase’s suspension after the Coke 600 this year.
Now, i don’t know if working this close with Trackhouse means that Spire won’t be working with Hendrick as closely but the fact that Corey is hype about it gives me hope.
Knowing what Spire Motorsports came from makes me wish for them to have all the success in the world and who knows, maybe that “Next step” that the broadcasters are always going on about truly does start with this agreement with Trackhouse…

so is spire switching to ECR engines or trackhouse to HMS? or no change there

The 77 right now has ecr engines and the 7 has HMS. Next year hard to say if Zane will have HMS or ecr engines since the car is spires. I assume the 77 will be HMS engines next year with Carson

All the Chevy teams run a common engine built jointly by RCR and HMS. They merged their engine operators together in 2020. Just like Roush Yates in the Ford camp.

Oh great another terrible team getting another terrible ride. Stop wasting our time Corey Lajoie.

Corey Lajoie is so irrelevant. 200+ races over 8 years and not one top five, not one pole position, obviously ZERO wins, and at last count, only 7 top 10 finishes. 7 divided by 200=0.035% of his races he has a top 10 finish. Irrelevant…and shameful that he still has a ride.
Btw, Ty Dillon’s stats are almost identical to lajoie’s.
200+ races over nine years.
No wins, zero top 5’s, ZERO pole positions, and yet again, 7 top 10 finishes.
These guys are a detriment, not a benefit

@8_KBusch_RCRGO Fas and Germain racing were not decent cars to say the lease. Until this year, Spire has been a typical fresh start up team. So you can’t blame the drivers for being stuck in bad cars. However from the Xfinity drives out of Ty, I can say it does seem he is washed along with his brother

@Tyler Hernandez bro. 8 years? 8 years and you think he is going to get better? Or are you an apologist for Lajoie? That’s fine if you are, I’m trying to understand your reasoning behind this statement. Are you a Ty Dillon apologist as well? If not, what’s the difference?

@Tyler Hernandez also, to say Corey Lajoie is “Stuck” is bullshite.
He isn’t a tree. He can leave anytime he wants to go to another team. There is no other team that want him. Is average viewership on his channel posts are less than 400 views. Nobody wants him. He brings nothing of substantive value.

It’s going to be interesting to see how Spire Motorsports performs in 2024 with Zane Smith.
