What if Kevin Harvick never went to SHR? What if he instead stayed at RCR, or found a path to Hendrick Motorsports? Today we look into these paths and see what directions that Kevin Harvick's could have gone. With these simple questions there are almost more questions and doors opened than there are closed and answered. It isn't just Kevin Harvick that has their careers changed with this to. How do you think Kevin Harvick’s career looks if he doesn’t go to SHR?
He would Still be the legend
Probably wouldn’t of gotten that championship and have that great 2020 season
Do one on Kenny Irwin Jr.
I think it would’ve taken an Ownership Stake at RCR when he retired to convince him to stay.
He probably would have won a couple championships with Richard Childress racing.
Man that would change the course of history, hope he does good the last few races…
I’d love to see him spoil the show and win at Phoenix.
The question really comes down to whether or not Harvick’s consistency would be enough with RCR being stuck in time for more than half a decade.
Or he would have went to indycars.
Crazy that Kyle wouldn’t win in 2019 if this happened..
considering the strength of toyota in 2019 I don’t think any other manufacturer would bring the championship
Harvick would’ve had half the wins he has right now if he stayed with RCR
If it were the Piston style points system, he would have had 5 championships (4 at RCR, 1 at SHR)
Or after 2013, he goes to indycars driving for the Andrettis
A few questions for this timeline
What happens to Bowman?
Does SHR go down to 3 cars?
What does SHR do for the 2018 season when Patrick retires?
Those are some questions I have. I feel like, no matter what, HMS takes that chance with Bowman, and if Harvick does choose to take the chance, he goes to the #24, and Byron stays in Xfinity a little longer than he had IRL
But, we’ll never know for sure
Personally I believe the 10 remains the same as now with Aric because he never mentioned Aric either which I think means it’s not Important enough to mention that it stays the same
Would love to have seen him in Hendrick or Gibbs equipment after leaving RCR. Especially to finish out his career, these past few years of him driving SHR dump trucks have been brutal.
Hendrick would have been a no-go for Harvick, considering that he and Dale Jr weren’t on speaking terms in the 2010s after throwing comments at each other
@S.KullRandom agreed however they have patched things up and both are part of the Cars Tour ownership team along with Jeff Burton.
SHR was HMS equipment when they ran Chevys, only thing missing was Hendricks influence and hiring power.
@WastdTrashPanda that is true the deal with Gene Haas was well before Stewart joined the team
Anyone else want a flow chart of these driver moves and stuff
Yes
What if SHR didnt change to Ford, Harvick only championship was with Hendrick engines and obv Chevy
Although in every format outside the playoffs he would’ve won 2020
SHR would likely be a mid-tier team after Tony Stewart & Kurt Busch retired if Kevin Harvick did not go over there. There is also an effect in F1 as Haas would not have the funds necessary to start that operation based on the success created by Kevin Harvick & Tony Stewart in NASCAR & instead Haas buys into an existing team like Williams or Racing Point as his way of getting into F1. If Haas bought into Racing Point, we likely would never see the Strolls in F1 along with the Aston Martin name, though the team would continue to run the Mercedes engines. Now if Haas bought into Williams, Ford would instantly replace Mercedes as the engine provider due to Haas’s connections with Ford in NASCAR.
SHR might not even exist without Harvick
If the old points system was used, he would have been an Intimidator 1.5. A 5-time champion in the 29, taking RCR to heights not seen since 2000. I feel he would eventually go to SHR regardless, but at the end of the 2010s, taking the 1st championship for his new team in 2020. Remember, he and Dale Jr had some “choice words” to say about each other in the mid-10s, and that rift would have taken longer or have never healed at all, so a move to Hendrick would have been disastrous for him, as the world’s most popular driver was in the same team as him. In an alternate 2023, he makes his final win at Talladega against Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, and in his one race per season, Dale Earnhardt Jr. It would have been the biggest fan noise since Jr in 2001, and Byron would have been docked points for the same issue that DQ’ed Harvick in the playoffs. Harvick would have retired in style, with a top 4 finish in the standings
What makes this timeline crazy to think about is when you consider there were rumors back in 2015 of Harvick going to Hendrick to replace Kasey Kahne.
Also, the thought of Harvick in the 48 car kinda sounds cursed tbh
Love these what-if scenario videos!
It’s a horrible idea and I’m not liking it
What is Kevin Got put into a dream team scenario like the 48 car in 2002? If the previously (and postly) unaccomplished Johnson did what he did with Knaus and Hendrick’s money, imagine what Harvick could have done.
I loved this video man, a video i’d love to see is where you have maybe Logano never leave JGR for Penske? I’d think that would be a fun twist to this!
I think taking into account Harvick and Stewart friendship Harvick would go to SHR in all timelines maybe with the excepyion of a timeline where they are not friends lol
Harvick, the last full-time driver to start a “Winston Cup” race.
Do you think that Kevin Harvick would compete some in Xfinity Series races after he retires from Cup?
