Why did you count each time he lost

Reply
Craig Smith November 2, 2023 at 12:26 am

@nascar_fan_timothy  idk i just knew how many times he started and how many wins he has. I’m not real good with words but I’m like super good with numbers. I can do algebra in my head, my classmates always thought I was crazy lol. I have memorized every drivers starts and wins, how many dnqs and how many times they drove each car. Not the truck series so much but cup an xfinity I just know all of them

That’s what makes NASCAR so interesting. Manufacturers picking different models in their arsenal to go to war on the racetrack

The body’s being made within the complete rules of NASCAR should do Ford and Toyota really good. Can’t wait to see the possibilities of these two manufacturers. Also loving the paint schemes

NASCAR has total control over every aspect of these cars, that’s how they can control how each brand handles, give one an advantage over the other, help the mediocre drivers, say Toyota drivers for example, compete with the best drivers, just for example, in the Chevy’s, that is called equity, it use to be equality, but with equality the best always rose to the top, it appears somehow the best still surface, a good example, Kyle Bush driving for a top team but at this time in a car that NASCAR is making the worst handling, and he is not coping very well.

There is nothing Denny could do differently. He did his very best and he’s just not good enough to be the Champ. He should be happy to make the round of eight.

Reply
Andrew Meyer November 1, 2023 at 8:33 pm

I disagree that he’s not good enough to be champ, at least for this year. The only reason he’s out is because of all of the points lost at Homestead from the part failure. If that doesn’t happen, he makes it in over Byron, and then who knows how Phoenix would play out. This season was not on him

nate11413331 November 1, 2023 at 8:54 pm

@Andrew Meyer and then his past comes back to haunt him and still doesn’t win a championship – Larson and Blaney come to mind as first in line to Take a page from chase elliott book and extract revenge… with him out of championship 4 justice was served and they can both focus on championship for their teams. Even with driving dirty – he still could win a championship….. he simply (as Tony Stewart once said) “didn’t wreck enough cars”

JDM r1c3ing November 1, 2023 at 9:51 pm

He’s still probably got more wins than your favorite driver

Reply
Trucker Cowboy Ed November 1, 2023 at 9:54 pm

@Andrew Meyeryeah that’s called racing you gotta perform in all the races ultimately to be the champion….if he was good enough he would have won the regular season

When Hamlin says “What else could I have done” well… for one you could have not driven into Blaney repeatedly that broke your steering at Miami.

Remember many seasons where Denny was just on the cusp of bringing home the championship and didn’t. The years with Mike Ford were frustrating as there were some bad calls made, but Denny has always seemed quick to write himself off. It’s funny, remember the “All we do is win!” days? Didn’t win the championship. Most of this year, I would of said all signs point to it being his year, but once again, the wind came out of his sails at Homestead and he was like, oh well, that’s the way it goes. It does make you wonder just how badly he wants it. When you see the drive and passion that Larson, Bell and Byron have, it’s completely off the charts. Mark Martin had the talent, but didn’t have the aggression when it was needed. He was the gentleman driver always. Denny on the other hand is not afraid of moving someone out of the way, but he still comes up short. I believe Blaney referred to him as a “hack” at Homestead. I don’t believe he is a hack with 51 cup wins, but there is some spark, somewhere that is missing. Now at 43, I doubt he ignites it. I do not think he is the driver and wheel man that Larson and Bell are and perhaps not that of some other rising stars.

The new Mustang looks good, this is the first update for the gen 7 car. But the question is how this affect aerodynamics and car performance, we see it next year.

I’m a Ford fan so I’m excited to see the dark horse on the track. Denny has been great even if he never wins a championship, we gotta give it to him, he is a winner regardless!!! Thanks for the memories, Mr. Harvick!!!! great show as always Eric..

I really like the new Ford model. Hopefully, it will fix some of the struggles they had this season, especially at some of the bigger racetracks.

I’m not even close to being a Denny Hamlin fan but I don’t think people realize how hard it is to win a championship.

Blaney sucked all year and got hot with 5 races to go. It’s really not that hard

Reply

I’m just gonna say it, Hamlin taking out Chastain at Phoenix this year cost him a shot at the championship

The fact that Denny has accomplished all those wins and not won a championship just shows you how hard it is in this modern era to win a championship with this playoff format.

Reply
Dr. Smith November 2, 2023 at 12:18 pm

With a driver like him, it was even harder before this pathetic point system, the old system rewarded the best most consistent drivers and teams, not just somebody that can only do well when they have the fastest car on track.
